“Halo is on PlayStation Going Forward,” Confirms Halo Studios Community Director

If you haven’t heard, Halo is now coming to PlayStation 5! It’s beginning with Halo: Combat Evolved, a rebuilt version of the original game. But this is just the start – Halo Studios and Microsoft have confirmed that more Halo games will be released on PlayStation in the future.

Brian Jarrard, the community director, announced at the Halo World Championship that they’re thrilled to bring more players into the Halo universe. He said it’s been a long-awaited moment and they hope new players will love Halo as much as the team and long-time fans have for the past 24 years.

As someone involved with the community, I know Halo fans are thrilled to see their friends joining in. This means a bigger and more active Halo player base for everyone. It really feels like a fresh start, and now Halo is available on PlayStation, beginning with Halo: Combat Evolved.

Halo: Combat Evolved is the first game made using Unreal Engine 5, and the developers have stated they are working on several more. One of these upcoming projects is likely the next major Halo game, which may be why this remake doesn’t include traditional competitive multiplayer. However, an official announcement about the next game is still expected.

The remake of Halo: Combat Evolved is coming out in 2026. You can now watch a playthrough of the fourth mission, “The Silent Cartographer,” which showcases new features like sprinting. However, not everyone is happy with the changes – even Jamie Griesemer, who originally designed the game, has shared his concerns about how easily Hunters can be defeated with a Warthog. You can read his thoughts on that here.
