Superman, known as the Man of Steel, is one of DC’s most powerful heroes. He’s famous for unbelievable feats of strength, like lifting an infinitely heavy book or carrying entire planets as if they were light. Given his immense power, DC Comics limits the number of Kryptonians (Superman’s people) to avoid questions about why so many equally strong individuals aren’t also saving the world. Although Superman is often called the Last Son of Krypton, his family line, the House of El, doesn’t actually end with him.
Over the years, Superman has fathered many children, originating from different possible futures and alternate realities. With so many offspring, it’s natural to wonder which one is the most powerful. Today, we’re ranking Superman’s children by strength. To keep things manageable, we’re only considering those whose stories are officially part of the main DC Universe storyline, and we’re being a little flexible with what counts as a ‘child’ in some cases.
6) Jon Lane Kent

Jon Lane Kent is the son of Superman and Lois Lane, but he’s from a different reality than the Jon most people know. He comes from a possible future that never actually happened, and his time in the present led to some interesting events. While he isn’t as physically strong as his main universe counterpart – he has only half the strength of a typical Kryptonian – he’s exceptionally gifted with telepathy and telekinesis, more than compensating for his lesser physical power.
He can unleash huge amounts of psychic energy, capable of destroying everything around him. In his past, he was responsible for the deaths of most metahumans on his world. However, his biggest weakness is his unstable body – a result of being both Kryptonian and human – which causes dangerous spasms that require technological control. While incredibly powerful, he isn’t quite as strong as Superman’s most powerful children.
5) Kon-El II

This version of Superboy, known as Kon-El II, wasn’t cloned from Superman, but from the previous Superboy, Jon Lane Kent. He was created as a replacement body for the original Jon, whose health was failing. Because of this, Kon-El has all of Jon’s abilities, but without the weaknesses that held him back. He’s also demonstrated better control over his powers and consistently won when fighting Jon Lane Kent. Essentially, Kon-El II is a more powerful version of Jon Lane Kent, though still not as strong as some others.
4) Otho-Ra

Otho-Ra, Superman’s only daughter featured here, rounds out the top four. As a Phaelosian – a group related to Kryptonians who were exiled long before Krypton’s destruction – she shares many of Superman’s powers. In addition to the usual abilities gained from yellow sunlight, Otho can create blue, fire-like energy. She can use this energy for simple blasts or form it into more complex shapes, like swords, axes, or protective shields.
Otho is incredibly powerful and could even surpass her adoptive father, but she’s still young and needs time to fully develop her abilities. Even now, as Starchild, she’s a capable fighter alongside the other members of the Superman Family, and her time as a gladiator on Warworld has given her valuable combat experience. Once she’s grown, Otho could become an incredibly formidable force.
3) Connor Kent

Connor is known as Superman’s brother, but he was actually created as a clone using DNA from both Superman and Lex Luthor. Characters created this way are often considered the ‘children’ of the originals, which is why we’re including Connor in our ranking – he deserves the third-place spot. Like the other clones, Connor has telekinesis, but his power only works on things he physically touches. He initially used this tactile telekinesis to replicate Superman’s abilities, including super strength, flight, and invulnerability.
Connor will eventually gain the full extent of his Kryptonian abilities, giving him all of Superman’s powers plus his existing ability to move things with a touch. This makes him incredibly versatile and powerful, though he hasn’t fully explored the limits of what he can do with his tactile telekinesis. While he possesses all of Superman’s power and even more potential, he hasn’t demonstrated being stronger than Superman yet.
2) Jon Kent

I’m a huge fan of Jon Kent, and it’s clear to me he’s destined for greatness. Being the son of Superman and Lois Lane, he’s not just living up to his father’s legacy, he’s already exceeding it! What’s really interesting is that his human side doesn’t hold him back at all – it actually gives him an edge. Even Batman recognized his incredible potential, saying he could become stronger than Superman himself. We’ve seen that potential, like when Jon was able to control his heat vision in a way Clark never could, back in Superman #32. It’s amazing to watch him grow!
Honestly, seeing Jon fight is incredible. He’s got this amazing ability to turn his solar energy into this bright blue power – it looks like electricity! It seriously amps up his strength. He can focus it into these devastating punches and energy blasts, and even use it for quick speed boosts. It’s wild, but he’s already as strong as his dad, maybe even stronger, and this energy just makes him hit so much harder. I mean, he took down Ultraman with a single punch! Ultraman himself said he’d never felt a hit like that before, and that just proves how unbelievably powerful Jon really is.
1) Osul-Ra

Osul is Otho’s twin brother, and normally wouldn’t be as powerful. However, he possesses a unique ability that makes him potentially the most powerful of Superman’s children, and maybe one of the strongest beings in the DC Universe. He was imbued with the Fire of Olgrun, a piece of the power belonging to the Old Gods – the original divine beings from the First World. These Old Gods are even more powerful than the New Gods, like Highfather and Darkseid.
Osul has the ability to become like Olgrun, a being who once had the power to create and destroy worlds across the multiverse. We’ve seen even a small piece of Olgrun’s power used to conquer Earth, as happened in Adventures of Superman: The Book of El. If Osul can master this power, he could become nearly unstoppable, especially since it already brought him back to life. He has the greatest potential of anyone we’ve seen – and that’s saying a lot.
Here’s a rundown of Superman’s six children, ranked from strongest to weakest. It makes you wonder which one is truly the most powerful, and which one would be best suited to star in their own comic book series. While a solo series for Jon Kent is much needed, I think the Super-Twins are especially deserving of more attention.
