Techland has shared more specifics about upcoming updates for Dying Light: The Beast, following an earlier preview. A recent post details new features like Call of the Beast, New Game+, Legend Levels, Nightmare Mode, Ray Tracing, and a partnership with PUBG Mobile.
Call of the Beast is a new feature now available in Dying Light: The Beast. It’s a community-wide event where players team up to complete challenges during their gameplay. There are 22 goals in total, and while one has already been finished, the second one is currently in progress.
Players can earn several rewards by completing goals, including a special Legendary item if they finish at least 17. If players complete 20 goals, everyone who participated in at least one goal will receive all of the weekly rewards. Currently, players are challenged to defeat enemies using dropkicks, and completing this challenge will unlock a retro “Sunset” car skin and a matching machete.
Techland is adding New Game+ and Legend Levels to Dying Light: The Beast to give players more reasons to return to the game. New Game+ lets you start a new playthrough after finishing the story, keeping your experience, skills, and items. Each time you play New Game+, the game gets harder, encouraging you to become even more powerful as you explore the open world.
As players progress, they’ll gain Legend Levels and unlock powerful new Legend Skills. They can also earn a new, visually distinct tier of weapons by increasing their Legend Level.
Following the release of New Game+ and Legend Levels, Techland is adding Nightmare Mode to the game. This isn’t just about making enemies tougher; it’s a completely new difficulty level with unique challenges and gameplay mechanics. The developers are aiming for a more realistic and intense survival experience, drawing inspiration from games like Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Alien: Isolation. This suggests players might face a relentless and powerful enemy pursuing them as they play as Kyle Crane in Nightmare Mode.
Techland is enhancing Dying Light: The Beast with features like ray tracing, as part of a larger series of updates and improvements planned over the next 11 weeks. This update also introduces the game’s first crossover event. Starting October 31st, players can enjoy content from PUBG Mobile, earning items like the Killing Pan, Battle Royale Bat, and the Marked Man outfit.
