Aaron McCusker has spoken about his new exciting character on Coronation Street: Ben Driscoll.
Ben will become Eva’s husband on Coronation Street, and together they’ll be the new owners of the Rovers Return. They’ll also be bringing their combined family and Ben’s mother, Maggie, into the mix.
I knew Cath was returning after being away for seven years, and she was bringing her boyfriend, a rugby player. I heard they’re really in love, but there’s some tension because of Ben’s mum – it seems like we both heavily rely on our mothers.
I can’t reveal any details about future storylines, but my character is a good father who finds himself torn between his mother and Eva, as he loves them both very much. It’s a difficult position, especially because he sees that Maggie doesn’t always treat Eva well.
He’s hesitant to get involved because of her history as a single mother who raised him. I’m worried about how he’ll handle things, and I expect there will be challenges in the future.
Ben has a tough job ahead of him taking over the pub, especially with Eva and Maggie arguing and the locals being so passionate!
