7 Naruto Characters Stronger Than Boruto

Boruto Uzumaki is a remarkably talented ninja with incredible potential. He’s already mastered difficult techniques like the Rasengan and Shadow Clones, and his special Jougan eye ability sets him apart. On top of that, the Karma Seal and his link to Momoshiki Otsutsuki give him powers that are unusual and powerful for someone his age.

The older generation are established legends. Boruto may eventually surpass them, but right now, he’s still working to achieve their level of skill and recognition. He hasn’t reached their status yet.

7. Jigen / Isshiki Otsutsuki

Isshiki wasn’t part of the original Naruto or Naruto: Shippuden stories, but his history is connected to the Otsutsuki clan, which appeared later in Naruto: Shippuden. He arrived on Earth with Kaguya Otsutsuki a long time before the main events of the series. Their mission was to grow a special tree to collect chakra and create a powerful fruit. However, Kaguya turned against Isshiki and attacked him, leaving him badly injured.

Isshiki survived by taking control of a monk’s body, Jigen, and remained hidden during the events of Naruto while he recovered his power. His special eye technique, Sukunahikona, lets him shrink himself and anything around him to incredibly small sizes, making his attacks almost impossible to defend against. He can instantly create huge objects or make weapons invisible until they hit. Countering this ability requires extremely fast reflexes or a powerful ability to sense energy. Isshiki isn’t simply more powerful than Boruto; he embodies the ultimate challenge Boruto must face to reach his full potential and become truly godlike.

6. Hagoromo Otsutsuki (Sage of Six Paths)

Hagoromo Otsutsuki is considered the creator of ninjutsu and the one who first truly understood chakra, fundamentally changing the world. Comparing him to Boruto Uzumaki is like comparing the person who invented a language to a child just learning it – Boruto has a connection to that powerful legacy, but Hagoromo was the original source. Hagoromo was also the son of Kaguya Otsutsuki, the first person to eat the Chakra Fruit from the God Tree.

Hagoromo differed greatly from his ambitious mother. Instead of seeking power, he wanted peace and harmony. When he gained his mother’s immense strength, he shared it with humanity, creating ninshū – the origin of ninjutsu – to unite people, not to fuel conflict. He ultimately overcame his mother after her desire for power overwhelmed her, and with his brother Hamura, he sealed her away. This incredible battle against a goddess who could manipulate reality itself establishes Hagoromo as one of the most powerful beings in the Naruto world.

5. Madara Uchiha

Even after his death, Madara remains a figure of immense power and fear. While Naruto and Sasuke embody hope and forgiveness, Madara represents an unwavering desire for control. He and Hashirama Senju were both crucial in creating the ninja world as it is known today, but Madara believed true peace was impossible. This belief drove him to seek power, ultimately making him incredibly strong. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara reached the height of his abilities, possessing the Rinnegan, controlling the Ten Tails, and becoming its host – a level of power second only to Kaguya Ōtsutsuki herself.

4. Kaguya Otsutsuki

Kaguya Ōtsutsuki is an incredibly powerful and enigmatic figure in the world of Naruto. She was the very first being on Earth to have chakra, gaining it by eating the fruit of the God Tree. Her power is so vast that she’s essentially beyond the level of normal humans. Kaguya is practically immortal, making it nearly impossible to destroy her. Even when Naruto, Sasuke, and Team 7 defeated her, they couldn’t kill her—they had to use special sealing techniques to contain her. Her most dangerous attack, the Expansive Truth-Seeking Orb, can wipe out entire dimensions, leaving nothing behind. This kind of destruction is unmatched in power.

3. Hashirama Senju

Hashirama, along with Madara Uchiha, founded the Hidden Leaf Village and profoundly impacted the ninja world with his strength, foresight, and leadership. He truly earned the title “God of Shinobi” due to his incredible natural abilities. His unique Wood Release technique allowed him to control trees and the environment on a huge scale – he could create entire forests, giant structures, and even restrain powerful Tailed Beasts. His most well-known move, Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands, summoned a colossal wooden statue with hundreds of arms, strong enough to overpower even the Nine-Tails (Kurama).

2. Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke has always been a remarkably powerful and complex ninja, starting from his driven youth and continuing as the “Shadow Hokage.” As an adult, he gained incredible abilities, including the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and the Rinnegan – a gift from the Sage of Six Paths. The Rinnegan granted him control over space, time, and even gravity, allowing him to teleport and create new dimensions. Combined with the Sharingan’s ability to predict attacks and the impenetrable defense of Susano’o, Sasuke became an unmatched warrior, capable of battling even god-like beings. He embodies the strength and skills that Boruto aspires to achieve.

1. Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto Uzumaki stands apart as a true hero. He wasn’t born great – he achieved it through determination, hardship, and a relentless desire to protect others. Though his son, Boruto, shares his name and potential, he’s still defined by the legacy of a shinobi who surpassed all expectations. Naruto’s power is a result of everything the ninja world has endured. As the host of the Nine-Tailed Fox and later mastering Six Paths Sage Mode, he reached incredible levels of strength. He could create gigantic chakra constructs, defeat overwhelmingly powerful enemies like Kaguya and Momoshiki, and even fight on equal footing with his rival, Sasuke. Plus, his stamina was virtually limitless. At his strongest, he could effortlessly create hundreds of shadow clones, each capable of performing complex techniques, all while maintaining his own full fighting power.
