Hazbin Hotel Creator Wants a Live-Action Adaptation, Though Not How You Expect (Exclusive)

The second season of Hazbin Hotel is now available on Amazon Prime Video, with the first two episodes released! Plus, fans can look forward to seasons three and four, which have already been confirmed. Earlier this year, the series also had a popular sing-along event. We at egmr.ru recently spoke with the show’s creator, Vivienne Medrano, and asked if she’d ever considered making a live-action version of Hazbin Hotel. Her answer might be unexpected for some fans.

Vivienne Medrano, the creator of Hazbin Hotel, has expressed interest in seeing the series adapted for the stage, but isn’t convinced a live-action TV show or movie would work. She believes the animated style is essential to the show’s identity and prefers live-action adaptations to have a strong purpose. Instead, she envisions a stage musical as a fantastic fit, allowing for a unique interpretation of the characters and world. She feels a musical format could bring a new level of emotional depth and visual storytelling, and the inherent fantasy element of theater would perfectly complement the show’s themes.

Which Demons Will Be Redeemed?

A key storyline in the second season of Hazbin Hotel focuses on Sir Pentious, a former villain, finding redemption. He proved his worth by sacrificing himself for his friends during the battle against heaven, earning him a chance at entering paradise. In an interview with Medrano, we asked her which other characters she hopes will find redemption as the show goes on.

Medrano admitted that while they have personal preferences, they wouldn’t reveal who they favored. They enjoy considering the possibility of villains finding redemption, but couldn’t confirm if any would. Medrano added that, given unlimited time and creative freedom, they’d be fascinated to explore what a villain’s life in heaven might be like.

The first two episodes of the new season of Hazbin Hotel are now available, with two more episodes dropping each week. Since season two has eight episodes total, the season will finish airing before the end of the year. Good news for fans – work on seasons three and four is already underway, though release dates haven’t been announced yet. Plus, with Helluva Boss now available on Amazon Prime Video, the future looks very promising for the Hellaverse!
