Prime Video is adding a bunch of new movies at the end of the month! Subscribers can look forward to titles like the Adam Sandler comedy Happy Gilmore, the classic holiday film Miracle on 34th Street, Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window, and the Marvel hit Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, some movies will also be leaving the service, including a highly-rated science fiction film.
We recently pointed out that a truly great science fiction film, Alfonso Cuarón’s 2006 movie Children of Men, is currently available on Prime Video. It’s considered a standout achievement, not just within the sci-fi genre over the past two decades, but as one of the best films of the 21st century. However, Prime Video subscribers won’t be able to watch it for much longer.
Children of Men Is Leaving Prime Video

Prime Video subscribers only have a little over a day left to watch Children of Men. The movie will be removed from the platform after 35 hours, specifically at midnight on November 1st. If you’re a sci-fi fan who hasn’t seen it, now’s the time – don’t miss out before it’s gone!
Set in a near-future world just two years from now, the film depicts a bleak reality where humanity hasn’t seen a baby born in nearly two decades. Clive Owen plays Theo, a disillusioned former activist now stuck in a mundane office job. His life is upended when old friends ask him to help smuggle a woman out of the country. What begins as a strange request quickly becomes extraordinary when Theo learns her secret: she’s pregnant. Now, with incredibly valuable and dangerous knowledge, he must guide her through a war-torn landscape, delivering a science-fiction thriller that promises to be unlike anything audiences have experienced before.
If you were planning to watch Children of Men soon, you might want to adjust your plans. The film is leaving streaming platforms, and unfortunately, it won’t be available on any other services for at least a few months – likely not until after December. While you can always purchase the movie, streaming fans need to act fast if they want to see this critically acclaimed film anytime soon.
