Good news for fans of King of the Hill! Hulu has ordered two more seasons of the show, in addition to the one already planned. The beloved animated sitcom originally aired on Fox from 1997 to 2010, following the Hill family and their friends in Arlen, Texas. It’s coming back to Hulu in 2025 with a time jump: Hank and Peggy Hill are returning to the US after a decade living in Saudi Arabia, and their son Bobby is now a twenty-something running his own restaurant.
Hulu has ordered two more seasons of King of the Hill, with ten episodes each. The first season of the revival, Season 14, premiered on August 4, 2025, and Season 15 is scheduled for 2026. This renewal extends the series to Season 17, with episodes expected to air through 2027.
‘King of the Hill’ Has Been One of the Best Series of 2025

The recent revival of King of the Hill has been very successful for Hulu. Disney reports that the entire series has now been watched for over 1 billion hours globally on both Hulu and Disney+, with the revival likely driving interest in the original seasons. The new fourteenth season of King of the Hill premiered at number one on Hulu and reportedly attracted 4.4 million viewers in its first week across both platforms. The show remained in Nielsen’s top 10 most-watched streaming programs for four weeks, proving that viewers enjoyed the new episodes and were eager to revisit the classic series.
Critics have praised the revival of King of the Hill, giving it a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Many believe it’s a perfect show for this moment, and the new direction allows for countless future storylines. While fans knew more episodes were planned for 2026 – originally, Hulu ordered 20 – there were worries about a renewal, even with the positive reviews and strong viewership. This concern stemmed from the fact that fans of another critically acclaimed show, Alien: Earth, are still waiting to find out if their series will continue.
Now that the next episodes are finished and Season 15 is set to premiere in 2026, production can start on Seasons 16 and 17. The goal is to release one season each year. While Season 14 of King of the Hill was released all at once, Hulu may switch to releasing episodes weekly now that the show is popular. This would mirror the original release strategy when it aired on Fox, and it would also help Hulu keep viewers engaged and retain subscribers, even with potential price increases in the future.
