A new cosmetic item in Battlefield 6 was quickly taken out of the game after players reacted negatively to it. Before Battlefield 6 launched, the developers at Battlefield Studios stated they wanted to keep the game’s appearance realistic and avoid the type of crossover content seen in games like Fortnite and Call of Duty. They promised the game would maintain a military feel and that all cosmetic items would “fit the world.” However, less than a month after release, some players felt the developers weren’t keeping that promise, leading to the temporary removal of one skin.
This week, the “Wicked Grin” skin was removed from Battlefield 6. When it was first released earlier this month, the skin received a lot of criticism from players. It featured a bright blue outfit and a mask with prominent “teeth.” While the design wasn’t considered bad by everyone, many players felt the overly bright, all-blue color scheme looked unrealistic.
Here’s a look at the Wicked Skin grin from Battlefield 6 for context:

As of now, Battlefield Studios hasn’t commented on why the Wicked Grin skin was removed, so it’s unclear what their plans are. However, it’s likely they’ll update the skin and eventually bring it back to Battlefield 6. They might simply change the colors, or they could significantly reduce how bright the blue is. While nothing is certain, it’s probable that the Wicked Grin skin will reappear in Battlefield 6 at some point.
Wow, this week has been huge for Battlefield 6! As a fan, I’m so excited Season 1 finally dropped, and the new free-to-play battle royale, Redsec, is a fantastic addition. It sounds like Battlefield Studios is really committed to supporting the game for a long time, which is awesome to hear – this is just the beginning of a lot more content to come!
