As a huge fan, I was so excited when Bloober Team announced they were remaking Silent Hill 2 – it felt like the series was really coming back! And now, it looks like things are heating up. There’s a new rating listed for the game on Xbox Series X/S, which makes me think we might be getting an announcement, or even a release date, very soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
Fans are wondering about “Born from a Wish,” a potential bonus story that’s been rumored as downloadable content for the remake. Bloober Team hasn’t officially announced it, but the lead narrative designer, Grzegorz Like, hinted at it on Twitter. When asked if the Xbox version would include the extra story, Like responded with a playful “Born from what?” and an eye emoji.
It’s pretty clear something’s happening, even though the actress Salóme Rannveig Gunnarsdóttir, who plays Maria, hasn’t been told anything yet. If an announcement is going to be made, December 11th at The Game Awards seems like the perfect time – especially since Return to Silent Hill is scheduled to release a month after that.
The Silent Hill 2 remake is now available on PlayStation 5 and PC for eager players. It’s also been included with PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe subscriptions.
