DICE has stopped players from exploiting ways to quickly earn experience points (XP) in Battlefield 6’s Portal mode. Instead, they’re adding a new ‘Casual Breakthrough’ playlist for a more laid-back player-versus-player experience. This mode features smaller teams of eight players on each side, and each team is supported by 16 bots – a feature similar to the ‘Attrition’ mode in the Titanfall series.
Dogtags and Accolades don’t contribute to your progress or stats, but the playlist generally rewards you with experience points for your career, weapons, and battles, and helps you complete challenges. However, actions performed by computer-controlled players (bots) give you less experience than actions done by other real players.
Currently, players can choose between the Siege of Cairo and Empire State maps. DICE may make further changes based on player feedback. While it doesn’t offer a quick way to level up, this system at least follows the game’s rules.
Battlefield 6 is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can also play its free-to-play battle royale mode, Battlefield: RedSec. Read our review to learn more!
We’re excited to announce Casual Breakthrough! We know you sometimes want to enjoy Battlefield without the pressure of competitive matches. That’s why we’ve created a more laid-back way to play, where you can still make progress and complete challenges.
