Critics generally liked Digital Eclipse’s Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, but players haven’t been as impressed. Currently, the game has a “Mixed” rating on Steam, with only 45% of over 500 user reviews being positive.
Players are most frustrated by noticeable delays between their actions and what happens on screen – this input lag affects every game in the Kollection, even the menus. Online multiplayer has problems too, lacking features like direct friend challenges and custom lobbies. Plus, the online system’s netcode causes audio glitches.
Digital Eclipse has announced that they’re building an Online Arcade where players can create both private and public rooms for up to 16 people. It will even let you play multiple games from the collection simultaneously. While they’re aiming for a release “a few weeks after launch,” the exact timing depends on finishing internal testing and getting final approval.
The Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is now available on PC, as well as Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and both Nintendo Switch models. You can find all the details in our comprehensive guide.
