I’m completely hooked on Hazbin Hotel! It’s such a wild ride – hilarious, with amazing songs, and characters you can’t help but get invested in. Plus, the world-building is seriously impressive. Ever since we met Charlie, the princess who wants to redeem demons, fans have been pouring over every little detail, trying to figure out the bigger picture. There are tons of theories about what’s going on in Hell, why the Vees do what they do, and the past lives of both angels and demons. But honestly, one of the most fascinating things is a detail that makes you question everything we thought we knew – specifically, who Charlie’s mom, Lilith, really is.
Could the beautiful figure often depicted relaxing in paradise actually be someone other than Lilith? Examining subtle details in the artwork, along with information from the Bible and the Hazbin Hotel universe, hints at a surprising revelation. This discovery could completely change our understanding of the Morningstar family and the origins of Hell.
The Person Relaxing In Eden Is Not The One We Know From Hell

A key piece of evidence for this idea comes from how Lilith looks throughout the show. In the past, in statues, and even when Charlie remembers her, Lilith always has large, noticeable horns. They aren’t small or hidden – they’re a major part of her demon appearance. However, when we see Lilith relaxing on a beach or in a garden, she doesn’t have these horns. Her big hat might be fashionable, but it couldn’t hide horns as large as the ones consistently shown as part of her true form. This difference in appearance is a major clue that something isn’t right.
In Season 2, Episode 2, titled “Storyteller,” a woman is shown in a garden, seated at a table with sliced apples and a snake-shaped bracelet on her leg. This imagery clearly references the biblical story of Adam and Eve: apples represent the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, and the snake is a nod to Lucifer’s form when he tempted Eve. These symbols are traditionally connected to Eve, who was created by God, not Lilith. While some stories place Lilith as existing before Eve and depict her as being banished from Eden for refusing to submit to Adam, it’s easy to understand why, especially considering how Adam is portrayed in the show Hazbin Hotel.
I’ve been noticing a really interesting pattern in the show. If the character they present as Lilith were truly her, why would they constantly connect her with symbols that belong to Eve? It’s not just that one scene on the beach, either. Apples keep popping up everywhere – on Charlie’s phone case, and the character we think is Lilith has the Tree of Knowledge on hers. Even the rebuilt Hazbin Hotel and Lucifer’s staff are decorated with apple imagery, and Lucifer’s top hat prominently features a snake and an apple. Traditionally, Lilith isn’t linked to either of those things. It’s becoming pretty clear to me that the character they’re presenting as Lilith is actually Eve.
The Story Of Charlie’s Family Is Far More Complicated Than Anyone Thought

There’s a subtle clue in the first episode of Season 1 that strengthens this idea. When Charlie reads “The Story of Hell,” a brief image shows a shadowy figure of Eve with an apple. Her hairstyle and overall form are strikingly similar to the character Lilith, who appears on the beach. While Lilith is usually seen with full, voluminous hair in flashbacks and photos, Eve’s hair is straight, long, and consistently windswept. This seems intentional – a carefully placed hint for attentive viewers to notice.
If the character known as “Lilith” is actually Eve, it helps explain why she seemed so distant from Charlie and Lucifer, and why she was gone for so long. It doesn’t make sense for Eve, as a human who committed a sin, to be involved in the problems of Hell or care about Lucifer and Charlie. It also clarifies the strange halos seen on the trees in the garden, suggesting it’s a heavenly prison instead of a peaceful escape. As the original sinner, Eve would be the perfect person for such a divine confinement. This discovery creates many exciting possibilities for the show’s overall story. If Eve is pretending to be Lilith, what does she want? Is she trying to use the Morningstar family’s power to get back into Heaven, or is she searching for more secret knowledge?
One intriguing idea is that Charlie’s real parents are Eve and Lucifer. In the Season 1 finale, Lucifer admitted to having been intimate with both of Adam’s former wives. If Eve was Charlie’s mother, keeping her identity secret and having Charlie raised by Lilith (who wasn’t considered a sinner) would be a dramatic and complex plot twist. It would be particularly ironic if Eve was separated from her daughter by powerful forces – both heavenly and hellish – and then, in effect, took on the identity of Lilith herself.
Perhaps Eve’s transformation into a darker character could be explained if she lost her Hellborn daughter – considering the Bible only mentions her having sons while alive – and was then imprisoned. This loss and resulting bitterness could even be the reason she becomes Roo, the series’ main villain. Interestingly, concept art of Roo shows her wearing a large hat and having branch-like tendrils, possibly reaching towards the heavens, hinting at a connection to her origins.
Discovering who the woman on the beach really is could completely change everything we thought we knew about Hazbin Hotel, and it’s making fans even more eager for what comes next.
