For Robert Pattinson, playing a father and actually being one are two very different concepts.
The actor, known for his role in Twilight and father to an 18-month-old daughter with his fiancée Suki Waterhouse, says being a real-life dad is very different from playing a father in his new film, Die My Love.
He admitted his character struggled with the situation, telling TopMob News at the film’s New York City premiere on November 1st that he simply preferred working with babies. He joked that he now waves at every baby he sees on the street, saying, ‘What’s up?’
Although Jackson, the character in the new comedy-drama opening November 7th, doesn’t immediately seem like a natural father, actor Robert, age 39, found one thing he had in common with the role.
He shared that he had recently become a father when he was filming the movie, and the baby character in the film was around the same age as his own daughter for most of the production.
After Suki gave birth at age 33, Robert decided to keep his work life and family life separate and didn’t bring his baby to the office.
You know, sometimes things just don’t align, and that’s okay! In this case, it was a logistical thing. We were filming in Calgary, and I was heading back to Los Angeles right after. Honestly, it was just simpler for me to move forward without her joining at that time. It’s all about making things work as smoothly as possible, and sometimes that means adjusting plans.
This isn’t the first time the Batman actor has talked about how fatherhood influenced his work.

He recently told Harper’s Bazaar that having a baby surprisingly gave him a huge boost of energy and new ideas. He explained that since his daughter was born, he’s felt more motivated and inspired in his work.
Likewise, Suki recently told TopMob News how she’s integrated her baby girl into her work life.
During New York Fashion Week in September, she shared that her daughter enjoys attending her clothing fittings. She explained that whenever she has an event to prepare for, her daughter asks to join the fitting process.
Suki explained that they have a lot of fun together because they share similar interests, and she enjoys including this person in all her activities.

…where they couldn’t help but show off their love.

The couple attended GO Campaign’s 17th annual GO Gala at Citizen News in Hollywood on Oct. 21.

Around two weeks after Suki found out she was pregnant, she and Rob attended the premiere of Poor Things in New York. They joined other celebrities at the event, including Taylor Swift.

In February 2023, Suki Waterhouse opened up about her relationship with Robert Pattinson, telling The Sunday Times that she gets very excited whenever she sees his calls or texts. She added that they always have a lot to talk about and that she thinks he feels the same way, finding him very funny.
