If you love fast-paced action like in movies such as Mad Max: Fury Road or the John Wick series, you should check out a fantastic film from 2022. Set in the 1940s, many consider it the best action movie of that year – and possibly one of the best of the decade. Even better, it’s currently available to stream for free on Tubi, making it a great watch before the sequel comes out.
Jalmari Helander’s film, Sisu, is now available to stream on Tubi for free, with ads, starting November 1st. It was popular on Peacock over the summer, and being free to watch could make it even more widely seen.
If you haven’t heard of it, Sisu is a fast-paced, action-packed film set during the final days of World War II. It centers on a former Finnish commando who’s now a gold prospector, and finds himself pursued by a group of Nazi soldiers. It’s an exciting, violent movie, and one of the best-made action films since John Wick came out.
The Perfect Time to Stream Sisu
I’ve been hearing so much about Sisu – it’s been getting amazing reactions since it first showed at festivals a couple of years ago. But honestly, now feels like the perfect time to finally watch it! And get this – they’re already making a sequel, which should be in theaters really soon. I’m so excited!
I just got back from a screening of Sisu: Road to Revenge, and it’s a wild ride! Director and star Jorma Tommila is back, continuing the intensity we’ve seen from him before. It premiered at Fantastic Fest back in September and has already hit theaters in Finland. Now, thankfully, it’s coming to US theaters on November 21st – mark your calendars, folks!
If you watch Sisu on Tubi this month and enjoy it – and many people have! – you’ll be able to see more of the story about Aatami Korpi, a gold prospector and ex-soldier, and his action-packed journey.
Okay, let me tell you about Sisu: Road to Revenge. This one’s a revenge thriller focusing on a man whose family was killed by the Soviets during WWII. He goes on a relentless hunt for the soldiers responsible, and the leader of that group is played by a seriously intimidating Stephen Lang – you might recognize him as the villain from Avatar. It’s a straight-up chase movie with a lot of action, and Lang is fantastic as the bad guy.
Early looks at Sisu: Road to Revenge suggest it’s just as wild and action-packed as the first Sisu film. Fans of the original are in for a treat!
