Even though Halloween has passed, people around the world are still enjoying the fall season. Cartoon Network is known for its creative animated stories, and the show Over the Garden Wall perfectly captures the feeling of autumn. Although it first aired in 2014 and isn’t getting a sequel, fans still love following Greg and Wirt’s adventures in the Unknown. To celebrate over a decade since the show began, the animators have come together to create a special tribute to the mini-series.
To celebrate its 11th anniversary, fan-based animation studio Punch Cat Studios has released a special project where over 150 animators reimagined memorable scenes from the acclaimed mini-series, Over the Garden Wall. Called Over the Garden Wall Reanimated: Harvest Melodies, the project recreates five iconic musical moments. Punch Cat Studios is a non-profit, and all money raised will be donated to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) to support mental health initiatives. You can watch the new animation below.
Autumn Never Dies

If you haven’t watched Over the Garden Wall yet, all ten episodes are now streaming on Hulu. The good news is that, at about ten minutes per episode, the whole series is roughly the length of a full-length movie. While a new season doesn’t seem likely, there are still ways to enjoy the world of the Unknown. Last year, Cartoon Network celebrated the show’s tenth anniversary with a special stop-motion animated project, showing there’s continued interest in this popular series.
In 2016, Boom! Studios published a 20-part comic book series that explored characters, settings, and events happening before, during, and after the journey of Greg and Wirt. The series included several standalone stories, such as Over The Garden Wall: Hollow Town, Over The Garden Wall: Circus Friends, and Over The Garden Wall: The Benevolent Sisters of Charity. While these stories may not become animated episodes, they offer fans a deeper understanding of the world of the Unknown and the people who live there.
The Cartoon Network series Over the Garden Wall gained extra attention this year when Mondo released collectible figurines based on the show. These figures include characters like Gregory, Wirt, the dog from the first episode, and the people of Pottsfield. You can find them here: [link to Mondo figurines].
