Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection PS5, PS4 Patch Reduces Input Lag After Some Fans Requested Refunds

A new update is now available for the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. This update significantly reduces input lag, making the games feel more responsive.

We’re still waiting for official tests to see exactly how much the update improved the initial 100ms delay, but our first experience shows that games definitely feel more responsive after installing it.

The patch incudes all of the following fixes and improvements:

  • Input latency improvements across all games (PS4/PS5)
  • Improved audio buffer for online play
  • Fixed connection filter setting not working properly
  • Various fixes to the Fatality Timer option
  • Combos have been added to moves list for relevant titles
  • Fix for MK3 (Genesis) cheat menus not unlocking properly
  • Restored missing audio in 32X MKII
  • Additional improvements to MK4
  • Fixed issue that caused UMK3 to reboot after Scorpion fatality
  • General stability improvements for Genesis titles
  • Pause button hold time reduced by 50%
  • One-Button Fatalities added for all arcade titles
  • General stability updates to Music Player
  • Minor localization corrections
  • Some fixes to MK Trilogy Training Mode

This is a fast response to the detailed feedback Digital Eclipse has gotten from players, and it should fix the most noticeable problems people have been having.

As we mentioned earlier this week, many players aren’t enjoying the AI in the classic arcade games. While it accurately recreates the original gameplay, it doesn’t always provide a fun experience because of how it responds to your actions.

It will be interesting to see if the game developers address the difficulty and offer easier settings. Many players are struggling, and Sony is even issuing refunds, so a change seems necessary.
