Because both Sony and Disney (which owns Marvel) create Spider-Man movies, figuring out where to stream them has been confusing. The films usually move between Disney+, Netflix, and occasionally Hulu. While there were a few places you could generally find them, this month things changed – the best movies starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man suddenly appeared on a lot of unexpected streaming platforms all at once.
Spider-Man: Homecoming, the first Spider-Man movie connected to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been available on Disney+ for some time. Now, as of November 1st, you can also watch it on Amazon Prime Video and the free streaming platform Tubi.
Now, Spider-Man: Homecoming is available on three different streaming platforms, and those platforms don’t work together. Adding it to Tubi makes the movie even easier to watch, as you don’t need to pay for a subscription or even rent it. This is a great opportunity for new fans to discover this version of Spider-Man—especially with a fourth movie already in the works.
Just to address what will likely be a debate in the comments: Spider-Man: Homecoming is the stronger film overall compared to Spider-Man: No Way Home. While No Way Home has more spectacle and surprising moments, Homecoming tells a better story, is the most well-directed film in the Tom Holland Spider-Man series, and features the best Spider-Man villain since Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus. Michael Keaton’s performance as Vulture in Homecoming is truly outstanding.
Where to Stream the Spider-Man Movies
You can find Spider-Man: Homecoming on multiple streaming platforms, but other live-action Spider-Man movies aren’t as readily available. Most of them are easy to find on popular streaming services, except for a couple. The acclaimed animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse requires a cable subscription to watch on-demand, and Spider-Man: No Way Home is only available on Starz.
Most of the Spider-Man movies are now streaming on Disney+. This includes all three films directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire, as well as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the two Amazing Spider-Man movies with Andrew Garfield.
Both The Amazing Spider-Man films are currently streaming on Netflix. Sony and Netflix have a deal that will bring more of Sony’s popular movies to Netflix periodically, so the Raimi Spider-Man films may return to the service again in the future.
