“Mortified” Khloe Kardashian Reveals She’s Almost 4 Years Celibate

Khloe Kardashian is living her truth—even if she finds it a bit cringe-worthy. 

Following her split from Tristan Thompson in 2021, and after sharing that she hasn’t been in a relationship for “years,” Khloé Kardashian discussed what that’s been like and how people have reacted to her announcement. She shares two children with Thompson: 7-year-old True and 3-year-old Tatum.

Khloe recently shared in an interview with Elle that she feels embarrassed about still grieving her past relationship. She said it will be four years this December, and while she sometimes thinks it’s ‘pathetic,’ she also recognizes how meaningful it is to her.

The 41-year-old says she’s gained a fresh outlook on life through this experience.

“I’m feeling really good,” she said. “It’s simple to meet new people and take your mind off things. When I was splitting up with my partner, it would have been easy to just avoid dealing with it by getting involved with someone else.”

Honestly, seeing Khloe take some time away from relationships has been really inspiring. She’s been doing a lot of self-reflection, and it’s amazing to see. She’s actually said she needed to step back and ask herself the tough questions – like, ‘Why am I making the choices I am?’ and ‘What do I really want out of life?’ It’s like she’s finally prioritizing figuring things out for herself, and I’m really rooting for her.

Of course, another factor of the lifestyle change has been navigating dating with two young kids. 

She admitted she’d never dated anyone who already had children, and that was a big concern for her. She began therapy to better understand herself, particularly when it came to relationships.

Despite the benefits, Khloe maintained that her celibacy journey wasn’t intentional. 

She realized that when she focused on her own well-being, she didn’t have the energy for dating. Now, she feels like no one really interests her. Her children come first, and when she has free time, she prefers to relax at home and watch TV – something she doesn’t want to share with a partner. She’s content, but a little worried that she might never feel the need to change this comfortable routine.

Khloé Kardashian, the founder of Good American, wasn’t shocked by the strong reaction to her honest admission.

She understands why other women are choosing to be celibate. She feels things have changed, especially with social media, and people are becoming more selective about partners. As a 41-year-old, she’s no longer actively dating and meeting new people.

Khloe admits she’s unsure where to start with dating. She says she’s too critical and wouldn’t be successful using dating apps, as she’d be quick to dismiss potential matches.

Khloe isn’t planning to change her current lifestyle anytime soon. She says she’ll consider it “when I meet the right guy.”
