As a huge cinema fan, it’s hard to overstate just how iconic Spider-Man is. He really paved the way for modern superhero movies, even before the Marvel Cinematic Universe really took off. Sam Raimi’s original trilogy was a massive deal and helped kickstart the whole blockbuster trend. Now, of course, he’s a key part of the MCU, having joined the universe back in 2016. Being one of the Avengers has given us some incredible moments and added a whole new dimension to his story on the big screen. He’s truly a cinematic legend!
Even before Spider-Man joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he had many fantastic moments in other films. While the MCU has given us some incredible Spider-Man scenes, his earlier movies also feature truly memorable highlights. These excellent films have cemented Spider-Man’s place as one of the world’s most popular superheroes.
7) New York’s Crane Operators Help Spidey – The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

As a huge Spider-Man fan, I always loved the moment in Sam Raimi’s film where everyday New Yorkers cheered on Spidey during his battle with the Green Goblin. When The Amazing Spider-Man reboot came out, they revisited that idea, and honestly, I think they actually improved on it. Instead of just cheering, the crane operators of New York worked together to clear a path for Spider-Man, letting him swing quickly across the city to stop the threat. It’s the same heartwarming feeling – the city showing its support – but with the added bonus of some truly stunning visuals of Spidey soaring through the skyline. It’s a great way to show both his vulnerability and the love New York has for its hero.
6) Train Fight In Nueva York – Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (2023)

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a visually stunning film from beginning to end. The story expands Miles Morales’ world into the broader Spider-Verse, where he clashes with Spider-Man 2099, who is set on stopping Miles from saving his father. This conflict culminates in a breathtaking battle on top of a speeding train, set against the vibrant cityscape of Nueva York. Beyond its impressive visuals, the scene is emotionally powerful, forcing Miles to question his abilities and purpose as a hero.
5) Spider-Man vs Electro in Times Square – The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

Although many feel Electro was poorly portrayed in the films, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actually handled his transformation into a villain quite well. Despite problems with the script, the movie built to a fantastic showdown between Spider-Man and Electro in Times Square, showcasing the full potential of both characters. The scene was memorable thanks to its creative take on Spider-Man’s spider-sense and the impressive visual effects of Electro’s attack on such a famous landmark – it’s a truly well-made moment.
4) Miles Morales’ Leap Of Faith – Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018)

Everyone loves Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse! It’s considered one of the greatest animated films and superhero movies of all time. The story focuses on Miles Morales becoming Spider-Man and meeting different versions of the hero from other universes. A key moment in the film shows Miles finally believing in himself, leading to a powerful and moving scene where he takes a leap of faith.
3) Gwen Stacy’s Death – The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

One of the most shocking moments in any Marvel movie happened in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. More than ten years later, fans are still reeling from the sudden death of Spider-Man’s girlfriend. Despite his best efforts to save her, he wasn’t fast enough, and tragically, his attempt to catch her actually caused her fatal injury. It’s a deeply emotional scene and remains a standout moment in Spider-Man’s film history, especially considering it happened outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
2) Doc Ock Train Fight – Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Many consider Spider-Man 2 to be one of the greatest superhero sequels ever made. It built on the first film’s ideas while telling a compelling story of its own. The fight between Spider-Man and Doc Ock is particularly memorable, especially the scene on a speeding train. This beautifully shot sequence includes some of Tobey Maguire’s most iconic moments as Spider-Man and remains a highlight of the hero’s film history.
1) Spider-Man & Mary Jane’s Upside-Down Kiss – Spider-Man (2002)

One of the most beloved scenes from the 2002 film Spider-Man didn’t rely on special effects. After Spider-Man saves Mary Jane from an attack in a rainy alley, they share a kiss. This simple yet iconic moment has become a classic, and is still considered one of the most romantic scenes in superhero movie history.
