Disney Plus has an impressive schedule for the second half of 2025, featuring a variety of movies and shows. Already, the streamer owned by Disney has had a successful year, releasing popular titles like Andor, Daredevil: Born Again, and Paradise. This momentum is expected to continue as they plan to debut more original and returning series in the remaining months of 2025.
In the recently unveiled ‘Coming Soon in 2025’ trailer, Disney+ has showcased the eight most anticipated series and movies to be released on their platform within the next six months. Series such as “Star Wars: Visions” and “Marvel Zombies!” are also scheduled for release in 2025 but were not featured in the video. The Biggest New Disney+ Movies & Shows Streaming in the Rest of 2025
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox
A fresh true crime narrative coming to Disney+ and Hulu is titled “The Dark Chronicles of Amanda Knox“, which is a dramatization based on the real-life events of Amanda Knox, who was mistakenly jailed for the murder of her roommate in 2007. Actress Grace Van Patten portrays Knox, and the talented cast includes Rebecca Wisocky, Crosby Fitzgerald, and Joe Lanza. The series will debut on August 20th.
All’s Fair
As a passionate film aficionado, I can hardly contain my excitement for Ryan Murphy’s upcoming legal drama series, All’s Fair, premiering on Disney+ later this year! In the heart of LA, I’ll be cheering on Kim Kardashian as she takes on the role of a savvy divorce lawyer leading an all-female law firm. The star-studded cast also includes Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, and the legendary Glenn Close. This promises to be one compelling ride!
King of the Hill
Fifteen years after its initial run, “King of the Hill” is making a comeback with a fresh revival on Hulu. The original creators, Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, are back at the helm for this animated sitcom. The series revolves around the Hill family and their daily lives in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas. Starting August 4, 2025, new episodes from the revival will be available for streaming.
Wonder Man
This year’s final and upcoming live-action TV series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is titled “Wonder Man.” It’s a humorous take on Simon Williams, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who possesses superpowers and is trying out for a role in a superhero television show. Notably, Ben Kingsley from “Iron Man 3” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” will also join the cast, reprising his role as Trevor Slattery, another acting character within the MCU.
Alien: Earth
The debut of the first TV show set in Ridley Scott’s “Alien” universe will occur on Disney+ on August 12. Titled “Alien: Earth“, this installment is unique as it unfolds the story on Earth, where chaos ensues when a Xenomorph is unleashed. Created by Fargo’s Noah Hawley, the series features Sydney Chandler and Timothy Olyphant in lead roles.
Only Murders in the Building Season 5
2025 can’t come soon enough for me as a cinephile! I’m thrilled to share that the hilarious crime series “Only Murders in the Building” is coming back for its fifth season. As a resident of the Arconia, I can’t wait to get entangled in another murder mystery alongside Martin Short, Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and the legendary Meryl Streep – our favorite suspects-turned-detectives are back!
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2
In the second installment of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” the storyline will follow the events of Rick Riordan’s next book in his young adult fantasy series, “The Sea of Monsters.” This season finds Percy and his companions embarking on a mission to retrieve the legendary Golden Fleece, during which they face off against fearsome new mythical adversaries. The second season is scheduled for release sometime in December.
Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires
In 2025, the fourth installment of the Disney Channel original musical franchise “Zombies” continues, titled “Zombies 4: Rise of the Vampires.” The series revolves around the romantic tale between Zed (portrayed by Milo Manheim) and Addison (Meg Donnelly), two individuals from different worlds – humans and zombies. In this upcoming sequel, Zed and Addison embark on a journey after college, which leads them to encounter two new sets of monstrous characters.
Chad Powers
Glen Powell collaborates in creating and appears as the lead actor in the fresh Hulu series titled “Gridiron Glory”, where he portrays a former college quarterback who falls from grace and assumes the title role, joining a struggling football team in an attempt to rebuild his professional life. The production is additionally supervised by Michael Waldron, writer of “Loki”, with Steve Zahn and Toby Huss also featuring as co-stars.
