The eighth season of My Hero Academia will be its last. The final battle between UA Academy and the Paranormal Liberation Front will feature some huge moments, including Bakugo surpassing All Might, effectively ending All Might’s time as the top hero. As Izuku Midoriya faces off against the series’ strongest villain, Shigaraki, he’s preparing a final, desperate plan. Fortunately, fans won’t have to say goodbye completely – a new manga story is already confirmed and will be released soon.
The spin-off series My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions began in 2019, offering new stories where different heroes teamed up to face exciting challenges. Although not written by the original creator, Kohei Horikoshi, the series thrived under writer Yoko Akiyama and continued the adventures of Class 1-A after the main story ended. The series recently concluded, but a brand new one-shot chapter is planned for release next month in Saikyo Jump on December 4th. Details about the new chapter are still unknown, but fans are hoping it will reunite all of Class 1-A after the events of the finale.
It’s Time to Team-Up
If you’re new to My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions, here’s a quick overview: the series follows students from My Hero Academia as they partner with professional heroes for exciting missions. This “Team-Up Missions Program” is designed to give students real-world experience and teach them how to work together to defeat villains. While Izuku Midoriya and his classmates are eager to participate, the teams are randomly assigned – meaning anyone, from top heroes to students from other schools, could end up working together!
There’s no news yet about whether the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes spin-off will get its own anime series, but fans are still hopeful. As the main My Hero Academia series approaches its eighth and final season, Vigilantes is planning a second season, showing that the anime world of UA Academy still has a lot to offer, even after Deku and his friends finish their journey. While Team-Up Missions isn’t as high-stakes as the main story, it’s still an enjoyable way to see how various heroes interact and build relationships.
