With so much attention on the delay of Grand Theft Auto 6, you might have missed another significant game postponement. It’s not Terminator 2D: No Fate or UNBEATABLE, but Skydance Games’ Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. The game will no longer be released in early 2026, and a new release date hasn’t been announced yet.
The developer announced on Twitter that the project is very ambitious and they’re dedicated to delivering a high-quality experience for their team, players, and fans. Because of this commitment, the release date is being delayed, with no new launch date announced yet. Unlike Take-Two’s confidence in the new release date for GTA 6, the developers are taking extra time to thoroughly assess the remaining work before making a firm commitment.
We truly appreciate the incredible enthusiasm and support from our players and the wider community worldwide. Our team is dedicated to building something amazing, and we’re excited to reveal more details as we continue development.
The game Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra was originally announced in March 2024, with plans to release it in 2025. However, the release was pushed back to early the following year, and given that we haven’t seen any gameplay yet, another delay wouldn’t be surprising.
A gameplay clip from last September revealed some of Black Panther’s fighting moves, but it appeared to be from a very early version of the game. You can see the footage and more details here, and we’re hoping the game stays on schedule.
