Grand Theft Auto VI Release Date Delayed

Don’t flip a car over this news.

As a huge Rockstar fan, I was a little disappointed to hear that Grand Theft Auto VI is now coming out on November 19, 2026. But honestly, I totally get it! Rockstar wants to make absolutely sure the game is amazing for us, and I’d rather wait for something truly incredible than get a rushed product. It’s good to know they’re dedicated to delivering the best possible experience.

In a post on November 6th, they apologized for the further delay, acknowledging players have been waiting a long time. They explained the extra time will help them finish the game to the high standard players expect and deserve.

The game publisher expressed gratitude to their fans for their understanding and support, explaining that although the release is delayed, they’re thrilled for players to finally explore the expansive world of Leonida and revisit Vice City.

The release of the next Grand Theft Auto game, GTA VI, has been delayed again. Originally planned for fall 2025, then moved to May 2026, it’s now expected in November. This means fans will have waited 13 years for a new GTA title.

Fans were frustrated by another delay to the game’s release, with one user expressing their disappointment on X, stating, “I took a whole week off work for May 26th!”

Someone else quipped that they’d been waiting for so long they didn’t even worry about crime anymore – they just paid their taxes and went to bed early.

Even brands got in on the fun, with Domino’s replying, “Call us if you need help delivering.”

A delay for GTA VI isn’t unusual for the Grand Theft Auto series, as the first game came out way back in 1997 and subsequent releases have often faced setbacks.

Following the September 11th attacks in 2001, the release of Grand Theft Auto III was postponed. A year later, in 2002, the launch of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was pushed back by a week to allow for the production of enough copies to satisfy high player interest.

Both Grand Theft Auto IV and V experienced delays. IV was initially planned for October 2006 but launched in April 2008, while V was released eight months later than its originally scheduled 2013 date.
