For a period of three years, the actress from “Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again,” recognized for her striking hairstyle changes, showcased her latest dark hair transformation while strolling around London.

On the 5th of July, the woman, who is 36 years old, sported a brunette hairstyle with deep blue tips. She paired this new style with her attire, donning a black leather jacket, turquoise leggings, and tan Birkenstocks. Earlier on her Instagram Stories on July 8th, she had already displayed this new hair color. In keeping with the theme, she shared an image of herself at the gym, where she tied up her dark tresses in a messy bun while wearing athletic wear.

The actress who played Cinderella isn’t unfamiliar with dark-light hair shades, but she switched to brown just a few days following her performance at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival on June 29th where she was seen sporting her iconic blonde hair. In that instance, she shared a photo of herself and Billie Piper, the Doctor Who star, enjoying the music festival together, with her hair casually styled in loose waves.

It’s unclear whether Lily is sporting this blue hairstyle for a new role or just for fun. Previously, she has changed her hair style for roles, such as when she wore honey blonde curls to portray a younger Meryl Streep in the sequel of “Mamma Mia”, and her dark look in the 2024 action thriller film “Relay”.

And according to Lily, experimenting with beauty comes with the territory of being an actor. 

She shared with Glamour in January 2023 that acting is fascinating as it allows for constant transformation. Occasionally, she noted, it can take some time to discard the roles and appearances she’s portrayed on stage.
