5 Most Satisfying Sync Strikes in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment returns to the action-packed world of the Hyrule Warriors series with some improvements. This game is officially part of the Zelda storyline, serving as a prequel that adds context to events in future games. It also introduces exciting new features, with the standout being the Sync Strike – a powerful new combat ability that lets you team up with allies for devastating attacks.

Throughout missions, each character builds up a Sync Strike meter. Any two characters can perform a Sync Strike together, but specific pairings unlock particularly powerful and unique attacks. When these special pairs combine their Sync Strikes, they create entirely new combat effects instead of simply using their individual attacks. There are many combinations to experiment with, but some are more enjoyable and effective than others. Here are the top 5 unique Sync Strikes in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment.

5) Rauru and Mineru

In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Rauru and Mineru make a great team with a really fun and unique Sync Strike. When activated, Mineru creates construct swords which Rauru quickly throws at your enemies. If you like fast-paced action and rapidly pressing buttons, this is one of the most enjoyable Sync Strikes in the game. While it might not be the most powerful, it’s a blast to use, especially in missions where both Rauru and Mineru are available characters.

4) Zelda and Mineru

I don’t particularly enjoy controlling constructs in combat, but Mineru’s special team-up attack with Zelda is a blast. When you use their Sync Strike, Zelda actually climbs inside a construct mech, letting you control it and unleash a barrage of attacks on enemies for a short time before it breaks down. It’s incredibly satisfying to just power through enemies during this unique attack, and I always try to activate it when I can.

3) Mysterious Construct and Raphica

By combining Zonai technology with wind power, the Mysterious Construct and Raphica create a powerful team attack featuring controllable tornadoes. This three-wave attack deals significant damage and allows for fast-paced button inputs. Visually, it’s incredibly satisfying to watch, with swirling mini-tornadoes filling the screen throughout the entire attack.

2) Calamo and the Mysterious Construct

To be honest, Calamo is my favorite character to play as in this game. I almost always pick him when I have the chance, so I’ve used his special team attack with the Mysterious Construct a lot. I think it’s one of the best in the game. During the attack, the Mysterious Construct flies through the air with Calamo riding on top, and together they throw different fruits charged with elemental powers at the enemy. It’s really effective because you can target enemy weaknesses with different elements, and it’s just a really enjoyable attack to perform.

1) Zelda and Rauru

It’s fitting that Zelda and Rauru, two of the game’s main characters, have the strongest team attack. Their combined attack sends out beams of sacred light to damage enemies. You can control each beam individually, which is great for dealing big damage to a single boss or splitting your attack between two bosses. It’s a powerful and fun ability to use, despite being easy to control.
