FBI’s Juliana Aidén Martinez Talks Eva ‘Not Messing Around’ With Maggie While Other Agents Are Missing, And I’m Ready For More Of The Duo

Since Katherine Renee Kane left her role as Agent Tiff Wallace, the CBS show FBI has seen a lot of changes in its cast, with Scola trying to find the right partner. Now, in Season 8, Juliana Aidén Martinez (known from Law & Order: SVU) has joined as Agent Eva Ramos and quickly connected with her new co-star. In the recent episode, “Falsetto,” Eva teamed up with Maggie, and Martinez shared her experience working with Missy Peregrym on the episode.

Eva and Maggie had been working together with the team since Dani Rhodes’ death and the arrival of the new agent. However, two team members were absent in the episode “Falsetto”: Scola was in Texas visiting Nina’s family, showing their relationship is still thriving after her departure from FBI: Most Wanted, and OA was still recovering and awaiting medical clearance to return to work after a recent life-threatening situation.

Missy Peregrym said working with Juliana Aidén Martinez was “really fun,” and a preview showed their characters having a direct conversation. In an interview with TopMob, Martinez discussed how Eva and Maggie work together as partners, comparing them to Eva and Scola.

I’m really impressed with how effective Eva and Maggie are when they work together. They tackle a major case with a determined and unstoppable energy. It’s exciting to see them drive the story forward, and it’s fantastic to have that leadership come from these two women in this episode. (And I want to add, I think Scola is great too!)

The episode “Falsetto” really highlighted the need for both agents to be proactive and strong, especially with Scola and OA away, which reduced their field team by half. What began as a shocking daytime stabbing quickly became a much more disturbing case, as Eva and Maggie discovered their first victim was involved in sex trafficking.

The killer was revealed to be Salma, a woman who had been a victim of human trafficking. After escaping, she sought revenge on those who had harmed her and countless other women. However, the leader of the trafficking operation was a Crown Prince from a foreign country, protected by diplomatic immunity, which prevented the agents from being able to help Salma or bring him to justice.

Anna Vorpe’s return created more problems for Isobel, and she also orchestrated a plan for one of the Crown Prince’s victims to kill him. While the victims held by the traffickers were rescued and the main person responsible was killed, Eva didn’t feel true justice had been achieved because Salma still faced a harsh punishment.

Overall, this episode was excellent because it showed the two female team members working together. Juliana Aidén Martinez described the experience as “very empowering” and continued to explain:

That episode felt really strong, and I think it was great for viewers to see that dynamic. Eva and Scola just naturally work well together, using their intelligence and critical thinking skills to solve cases. With Maggie and Eva, it was more of a high-energy, ‘let’s get it done’ approach – a real push to meet a tight deadline. [laughs]

Next week’s episode, titled “Parental,” will reunite the entire team as the guys, Maggie, and Eva all work together in the field. Photos from the episode also show Isobel joining them, proving she’s recovered from her recent life-threatening situation.
