Where Golden Bachelor’s Mel Owens Stands With Season 2 Winner

The love is still blossoming for Mel Owens and Peg Munson.

Though they didn’t get engaged on The Golden Bachelor, the former NFL player is happily continuing his relationship with his partner.

Mel said on the November 12th After the Final Rose special that seeing their relationship develop felt natural, and that it’s wonderful when you find the right person. They’ve spent quality time together and shared special moments. Mel particularly appreciates her partner’s vibrant personality and proactive attitude.

Peg revealed that she and Mel are in love and plan to move forward with their relationship at their own pace, without feeling pressured to get engaged quickly.

You know, as someone who’s been following their journey, it’s just so beautiful to hear them talk about finding love again in their 60s. They recently shared that at this stage in life, they finally get to create the love story they want – and that’s exactly what they’re doing. It feels so authentic and special, like they’re truly writing their own happy ending, and it’s inspiring to witness.

Peg continued, saying they want to keep growing their love by making time for family. She feels that being in their sixties allows them the freedom to do what they enjoy with the person they love.

As for stepping out publicly after the end of their season, Peg couldn’t be happier.

“It’s exciting,” she noted. “We get to be out and we get to share this.”

Peg and Mel are continuing to enjoy their new relationship with a trip to Las Vegas, Mel’s home state of Michigan, and a visit to the Super Bowl in California. Peg is thrilled to have found someone special.

Oh my gosh, Peg totally nailed it! She said Mel isn’t just a person with integrity, he is integrity itself! Seriously, I’m still thinking about it. It’s just… everything I adore about him in one sentence. It’s like, he embodies everything good, you know? I’m obsessed!

Mel started his search for love in September, getting to know 23 different women. In the end, it came down to Peg and Cindy competing for his final rose. However, during the finale, Cindy decided to remove herself from the competition because Mel wasn’t ready to commit, making his future with Peg more certain.

As Mel placed a diamond ring on Peg’s finger, he said, ‘This shows how much I love you, and that we’ll take the time to build a future together.’

Peg shared that she and Mel agree on continuing their partnership, and Mel added that the process felt worthwhile.

During the finale, the 66-year-old told the cameras he was ‘all in’ on his relationship with Peg, and excited about their future together, saying he felt ready for what’s next.

Now that Mel and Peg have found love, let’s revisit the women who competed on season 2 of The Golden Bachelor.
