Please be aware that this article contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga. Jujutsu Kaisen continued with a new manga series in September 2024, created by Gege Akutami (the original author) and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki. Called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, it’s currently appearing in Weekly Shonen Jump and is planned as a brief story, lasting only three volumes. The story takes place 68 years after the defeat of Ryomen Sukuna, the incredibly powerful King of Curses. No single sorcerer, not even the modern era’s strongest, Satoru Gojo, could have defeated Sukuna alone. His defeat required a combined effort from most of the main characters, working together to ensure victory.
Following Gojo’s death, the sorcerers immediately rushed into battle. Yuta Okkotsu, the last remaining special-grade sorcerer, was vital in defeating the villain, constantly devising daring strategies and risking his life. He also provided significant support to Yuji Itadori and the others. Many considered his abilities second only to Satoru Gojo. With Sukuna defeated, Yuta became the strongest sorcerer, as he was the only one left of his rank. However, the story Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo presents a different strongest sorcerer – a favorite among fans.
Yuji Itadori Is Officially the Strongest Sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

The story of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo starts with the death of Yuta Okkotsu, who gave up on life after the loss of his wife, Maki Zenin. Yuta was the leader of the Gojo Clan and, after Sukuna’s defeat, considered the most powerful sorcerer remaining. While the threat of curses hasn’t disappeared, the world now has very few strong sorcerers. To complicate matters, over 50,000 Simurians have unexpectedly arrived in Japan seeking refuge, creating a new and significant challenge.
I’ve learned about the Simurians, an alien race that seems to have power comparable to Jujutsu sorcerers, and those in charge are convinced they’re planning an attack. The sorcerers are preparing for war, and they’re really hoping to gather as many strong allies as possible – especially Yuji Itadori. He was key to defeating Sukuna, and is considered a legendary figure. The latest chapter of the manga confirms he’s still alive, though it’s strange – he hasn’t aged much at all.
No one has explained why, but many believe he gained power by consuming cursed objects or Death Paintings. With Yuta gone, he’s now considered the strongest. Given how quickly he’s grown, he’s likely become incredibly powerful over the decades. Although the new manga hasn’t shown much of him yet, his return seems inevitable.
