The wait is over – it’s time to start playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7! While the game isn’t officially released in most places yet, some of us flew to New Zealand early this morning to get a head start.
I got a chance to play the beta for Black Ops 7, and it was good to see things like being able to carry over your settings from Black Ops 6 – that’s a nice convenience. But there’s definitely still a learning curve with all the new stuff they’ve added.
Okay, so I’ve been diving into Black Ops 7, and wall jumping is back – which is awesome! I was messing around in the settings and found something you *need* to enable if you want to get the hang of it really quickly. It makes a huge difference!
Enable the automatic Wall Jump setting and never have to double jump again

To do a Wall Jump, simply jump towards a wall and then press the jump button again to propel yourself upwards.
With Wall Jump Assist turned on, you can simply jump towards a wall – the game will handle the rest of the wall jump for you automatically. You won’t need to worry about timing the second jump!
First, open your Settings. Then, navigate to the Controller section, and choose the Movement tab. Finally, scroll down to find Wall Jump Assist.
Once activated, you can choose how the feature works: it can be always on, or only trigger when moving forward or to the side. No matter which option you pick, if you move towards a wall while performing that specific action, you’ll automatically perform a Wall Jump.

If you’re using a mouse and keyboard, you’ll find the setting in the same place, but look under the ‘Mouse and Keyboard’ section in the Settings menu.
Wall jumping is pretty easy to learn, but Wall Jump Assist simplifies things even further by removing one button press. If the assist is available, it’s a good idea to use it to help you out.
Keep in mind this ability works on any surface you can rebound from – it’s not limited to walls! Experiment and discover what surfaces let you Wall Jump successfully.
