We’ve learned about one of the free games coming to PlayStation Plus in December 2025, even though Sony usually doesn’t announce these games until right before they’re added. Typically, December’s free games are revealed in late November. However, a previous announcement from Sony has given us an early look at one of the titles players can expect next month.
During a PlayStation presentation in September 2025, Sony revealed that SoulCalibur 3 is coming to both PS5 and PS4. Initially, Sony only said the game would be released sometime before the end of 2025. However, a recent announcement confirms that SoulCalibur 3 will definitely launch in December.
Sony announced yesterday that Tomb Raider: Anniversary will be added to the PS Plus Classics catalog on November 25th. The game was revealed alongside SoulCalibur 3 at a recent PlayStation event, with both titles expected to be released in 2025. Now that Tomb Raider: Anniversary is confirmed for November, SoulCalibur 3 is likely to be released next month.
Just to clarify, SoulCalibur 3 won’t be one of the free games offered to PlayStation Plus members in December. Instead, it’s being added to the Classics library, which is only accessible with a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. We’ll find out what free games will be available in December around November 26th.
If Sony follows its usual pattern, we expect to hear an official announcement that SoulCalibur 3 is coming to PS Plus around December 10th. The game would likely then be available to play starting the following week, on December 16th. Players will be able to get SoulCalibur 3 either through their PlayStation Plus subscription or by purchasing it separately on the PlayStation Store, even if they don’t subscribe to the highest tier.
