Steel Yourselves: The Game Awards Nominees Are Being Announced Imminently

The Game Awards are almost here! Hosted by Geoff Keighley, this event celebrates the best games of the year and also gives us a sneak peek at what’s coming next – kind of like a mini-E3.

However, before we get there, we need to know which games are up for what awards.

On Monday 17th November, all the nominees will be revealed in a special announcement presentation:

The nomination show begins at the following times:

  • North America: 9am PST / 10am MST / 11am CST / 12pm EST
  • UK/Ire: 5pm GMT
  • Europe: 6pm CET / 7pm EET
  • Asia/Oceania: 2am (Tue) JST / 1am (Tue) AWST / 4am (Tue) AEDT

We won’t find out which games are selected until Monday, but it’s always interesting to guess beforehand.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is expected to be one of the most popular games this year. It was a surprise hit earlier in the year and quickly gained a dedicated fanbase. Many believe it will be nominated for several awards.

PlayStation consistently participates in these events, so we anticipate that both Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei will likely be nominated for several awards.

Split Fiction was a strong contender early in the year, though it might not have gotten much attention. Considering that Hazelight’s It Takes Two won Game of the Year in 2021, we expect their co-op game could still earn some nominations.

Hollow Knight: Silksong also deserves a mention, quietly releasing at the end of summer. Considering the hype and positive reviews, it’s likely to be nominated for several awards.

We can’t review every game that deserves a nomination, but the selection committee definitely has plenty of great options to choose from this year.

What games are you hoping get nominated for awards this year? Let us know in the comments!
