With fewer Pokémon left to discover in Pokémon Go, players are increasingly focused on Shiny Hunting – the thrill of finding the rarer, differently colored versions of Pokémon. This adds an extra layer of challenge and excitement to the game, so new Shiny Pokémon releases are always a big deal. Usually, only a couple of new Shinies appear at a time, but larger events like this weekend’s Pokémon Go Wild Area 2025 – Global could introduce several new ones all at once.
Even though the live event for the 2025 Go Wild Area has finished, the fun is just beginning for Pokémon Go players around the world! The global version of this big yearly event takes place November 15th and 16th, from 10 AM to 6 PM local time each day. It’s a huge event with lots of Pokémon to catch and Raids to battle. Plus, three new Shiny Pokémon are being released, and including their evolutions, there are a total of seven new Shiny Pokémon you can collect!
Pokemon Go Wild Area – Global Is a Shiny Hunting Extravaganza
The 2025 Go Wild Area event in Pokemon Go is shaping up to be excellent for Shiny Hunting! Many featured Pokemon will appear more frequently, and only 3 of the event’s Pokemon haven’t had their Shiny forms released yet. The biggest draw will be the brand-new Shiny Pokemon debuting during the event, including:
- Impidimp
- Morgrem
- Grimmsnarl
- Hatenna
- Hattrem
- Hatterene
- Unown W
Impidimp and its evolved forms are completely new to the world of Pokémon Go. During the event, you’ll be able to find all three new Shiny Pokémon appearing in the wild, and Impidimp will also be available in 5 KM Eggs. While everyone has a chance to encounter these Shinies, players who purchase a ticket will get extra benefits. Specifically, those with a ticket to Pokémon GO Wild Area 2025 will have increased chances of finding Shiny versions of these debuting Pokémon. Additionally, Unown W and Hatterene will appear more often when ticketholders use Incense.
Tickets for Pokemon Go Wild Area 2025 are $11.99. While there are bundles available with extra benefits, even the standard ticket gives you improved chances of finding Shiny Pokemon and other special rewards.
Besides the new Pokemon appearing, many of the Pokemon normally found in the wild or attracted by incense will also have their shiny forms available during the event, making it a great time to hunt for them with or without the event ticket. Now, let’s take a look at how to get these new shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go this weekend.
How to Get Shiny Impidimp, Morgrem, and Grimmsnarl
During the 2025 Wild Area event, you’ll have a chance to find Shiny Impidimp appearing naturally in the wild during both the Dark and Fairy-type event hours. You can also hatch Impidimp from 5 KM eggs earned over the weekend of November 15th and 16th.
If you want a Shiny Morgrem, you’ll need to evolve a Shiny Impidimp by using 25 Impidimp Candy. It doesn’t seem like Shiny Morgrem is appearing in the wild during the event, so evolving is the best way to get one.
If you want a Shiny Grimmsnarl, you can evolve a Shiny Morgrem with 100 Impidimp Candy. During the Go Wild Area event, you’ll also be able to battle and potentially catch a Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, which is already fully evolved!
How to Get Shiny Hatenna, Hattrem, and Hattrene
During the 2025 Pokemon Go Wild Area event, you’ll have a better chance to find a Shiny Hatenna in the wild during the special Fanciful Fairy Hour. Playing during these times over the weekend will give you the highest probability of encountering a Shiny Hatenna.
You can’t find Hattrem appearing in the wild right now. But, if you evolve a Hatenna using 25 Candies, you’ll get a Hattrem, and it could even be the shiny version!
If you want the final evolution, Hattrene, you have a couple of ways to get it during the event. It will appear as a Mighty Pokemon in the wild on Saturday, and using Incense will increase your chances of finding one. This means you might be able to catch a Shiny Hatterene without having to evolve a Shiny Hatenna first.
How to Get Shiny Unown W
It appears the only new Shiny Pokémon available during this event will be Shiny Unown W, and it will only be accessible to those who purchase tickets. Ticket holders will be able to find it through Incense encounters on November 15th and 16th, alongside the previously released Shiny Unown forms (D, I, and L).
This Pokémon isn’t appearing anywhere else during the event, meaning players without a ticket to Go Wild Area 2025 might not be able to find it. Luckily, you can always trade with someone who did catch it after the event ends.
The Pokémon Go Wild Area Global event takes place from 10 AM to 6 PM local time on November 15th and 16th. While the event is free to join, some extra features are available with a paid ticket.
