One Piece Creator Has a Special Surprise Planned For Fans to Thank Them For Elbaph’s Popularity

Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga. It’s been over a year since the One Piece manga started its long-awaited Elbaph Arc, following the events of the intense Egghead Incident Arc. Fans have been looking forward to this arc for over two decades, ever since it was first hinted at during the Little Garden Arc. Luffy and Usopp, who always dreamed of visiting the island, are particularly enthusiastic. This arc is also very important for Robin, as she’s finally reunited with Jaguar D. Saul, who she thought perished in the tragic Ohara Incident over 22 years ago.

After a one-week break following Chapter 1165, the manga is set to return with a special surprise for fans. According to reliable insider @pewpiece on X, creator Eiichiro Oda will be creating a full-color spread and a cover for Weekly Shonen Jump to coincide with the release of Chapter 1166 on November 23rd, 2025. This colorful addition is a thank-you to fans for their incredible support, especially during the ongoing Elbaph Arc.

One Piece’s Elbaph Arc Is More Crucial Than Ever

When we arrived on the island, the locals threw a wonderful banquet to welcome us, but the festivities were quickly cut short by a sudden attack from the Holy Knights. Just as a big battle seemed about to start, the story took an unexpected turn and began revealing a tragic backstory. We’re only starting to understand what happened, as the flashback to the brutal God Valley Incident is nearing its end. Soon, the focus will shift to Harald and what really happened when he died. Harald’s death is a pivotal moment, because after it, Prince Loki of Elbaph was falsely accused of the murder and sentenced to be crucified.

Loki is determined to prove his innocence by exposing the real killer, but there’s a significant reason why he’s remained quiet for so long. The conflict with the Holy Knights won’t be resolved until a past story reveals what happened to Harald. The Holy Knights plan to conquer the Giants’ land, but they’re trying to avoid a confrontation with Luffy, one of the most powerful pirates. However, by harming his friends and crew, they’ve already unknowingly started a war with him.

The Elbaph Arc is likely to reveal significant information about the Void Century, particularly after the surprising mural shown in Chapter 1138. Because Elbaph is connected to the Sun God Nika and the events of the Void Century, fans anticipate learning a lot more about the story’s history. We can also expect to meet new characters and discover more about Shanks’ family, the Figarlands, and their hidden past.
