Kris Jenner is committed to taking the high road.
The Kardashian family member discussed her relationships with her children’s former partners—including Kanye West, Scott Disick, and Tristan Thompson—and explained why she maintains a connection with them even after their relationships with Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Khloe Kardashian ended.
She explained to Jay Shetty on the November 17th episode of the On Purpose podcast that these men are the fathers of her grandchildren, and she loves them. She emphasized that even through difficult times, her love for them doesn’t simply disappear.
At 70 years old, she’s seen her fair share of family hardships—everything from drawn-out legal battles to painful betrayals—but she prefers to focus on the present and not revisit those difficult times.
She said they didn’t need to revisit the past – it was finished and resolved. While she disapproved of what had happened, she insisted it wouldn’t change her feelings of love.
And part of Kris’ philosophy stems from her desire to set a good example for her 13 grandchildren.
She worried about how her actions would look to her grandchildren in the future, specifically if she wasn’t kind to their father. She believed strongly in teaching her children the importance of forgiveness – a crucial life lesson. While she acknowledged that painful experiences aren’t easily forgotten, she emphasized the need to forgive and let go in order to move forward.

Kris is understanding towards her grandchildren’s fathers because she’s been through similar family situations herself. After her divorce from Robert Kardashian in 1991, she later married Caitlyn Jenner, but maintained a good relationship with Robert throughout.
It took a few years to realize that the way I approach relationships was shaped by past experiences and the people who’d been in my life. For example, my former partner, Robert, always felt comfortable coming over, knowing a meal would be ready and he was always welcome. I now extend that same warmth and acceptance to all of my children’s former partners.

They are definitely not getting back together. However, with all the recent interactions – birthday celebrations, affectionate hugs, and even playfully acting out a romantic scene during the virtual reading of Fast Times at Ridgemont High – it feels like they’re just teasing everyone who hoped they’d reconcile.

Sarah proved she’s confident and playful when she appeared on her ex-husband Jimmy’s talk show. She was there to promote her new series, I Love You, America, and playfully teased him about his wife, Molly Kimmel, describing her as “cute,” “bright,” and “funny.” Joking about the difference between them, Sarah quipped, “It’s not fair! She gets the updated, more aware Jimmy. I only got the Man Show Jimmy.”

Honestly, some people seemed more upset about this breakup than those who were actually involved. When Anna—who is now married to Michael Barrett—found out Chris Pratt was going to marry Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019, she surprisingly offered to perform the wedding ceremony. She even sent a gift when their daughter, Lyla, was born in August 2020. A source reported that Anna was genuinely happy for her son, Jack, to have a little sister and was very supportive of the new family.

Their breakup could have easily led to disaster, but four years later, these HGTV stars are thriving. They’re successfully co-parenting their children, Taylor and Brayden, and continuing to renovate dilapidated houses into beautiful homes for others.

Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, who have a daughter, actress Zoe Kravitz, describe their relationship as a close, familial bond – what Lenny called being “best friends” in a 2013 interview with Oprah Winfrey. Even after their separation and Lisa’s subsequent marriage to and divorce from Jason Momoa, they maintain a happy and supportive connection. Lenny sees it as a positive example of how things can work out, saying, “It’s beautiful, and it just shows you what can be done.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the story of the Dancing With the Stars co-host and their ex-partner, a former hockey player, since their split in 2020. What’s really struck me is how consistently they’ve shown everyone they remain friendly and supportive of each other – it’s lovely to see!
I was absolutely thrilled when Brooks announced he was engaged to Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir back in December 2024! I immediately shared my excitement on Instagram, telling them how happy I am that they’re starting this wonderful new chapter together and wishing them a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and amazing adventures. It’s just so heartwarming to see them so happy!
The dancer, her ex-husband, and his pregnant fiancée spent a day together at the lake. She shared a photo of the group, calling them “three cuties” and describing it as a special day.

After separating in 2015, the parents of Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel have successfully co-parented, consistently prioritizing their children. They’ve continued to share vacations and holidays, and Ben has publicly praised his ex-partner, calling her “an amazing mother” in a 2016 interview with TopMob News.

I was a big fan of Nina and Ian together, so it was sad when they broke up back in 2013 after dating for three years. But I always admired how they stayed friends! Then, in 2014, Nina started dating Nikki Reed, and they actually got married that same year. It was really sweet to see Nina and Nikki become friends too – they seemed to genuinely connect.

The couple ended their five-year relationship in July 2016. The singer later shared on The Howard Stern Show in October that she remained very close to her ex, saying he had been both a lover and a friend for a long time.
“We love each other,” she said. “That’s it.”

Even years after The Office ended in 2013, the chemistry between its stars remained obvious, and Mindy Kaling understands why fans still root for them as a couple. In a 2019 interview with Good Housekeeping, she admitted that if she were a viewer, she’d feel the same way, especially considering she chose him to be a godparent to her children. However, she clarified that their relationship has evolved into something even deeper than friendship – they’re like family now.

After their divorce was finalized in 2011, the former couple easily continued to raise their son, Bronx. The Fall Out Boy singer has praised his ex-wife, calling her a fantastic mother.

It sounds like she’s moved on from her past relationship with the singer. He’s described their current connection as simply being friendly, stating they have a good relationship now.

Jennifer and her Dexter co-star first became acquainted on the show’s set in 2006, and their relationship turned romantic two years later. Even after their divorce in 2011, Jennifer later stated they remained on good terms, with “nothing but love and respect” for each other.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore are famously friendly exes, and their daughters – Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout – have helped them maintain that bond. So, it wasn’t surprising when they decided to quarantine together in Idaho during the pandemic. Sounds like they even had some fun, maybe with a dance party!

Even four years after their 2014 split, Jennifer Lopez continued to praise her ex-husband, the father of her twins, Max and Emme. In a 2018 interview on Sunday Today, she explained that Marc Anthony boosted her self-assurance during their marriage. He consistently told her she was a talented singer and encouraged her not to listen to anyone who said otherwise. She deeply respected him, considering him one of the greatest singers ever.

Despite any personal struggles he might be facing, the actress will always support her ex-husband and former Scream co-star. She described their divorce, eight years after it happened in 2010, as being relatively smooth, telling Bear Grylls on Running Wild, “It’s definitely one of the better divorces, if you ask me.” She also added that they’ve successfully co-parented their daughter, Coco.

Although their relationship ended in 2007, they still had great chemistry on screen when they starred together in the 2011 film Bad Teacher.

Although their 2013 breakup was difficult at first, the actors have reached a point where they can vacation together as a group. He also spoke about his relationship with his ex-wife, Jennie, saying, “People enter your life for a reason, and relationships evolve. Just because you’re not living with someone doesn’t mean you can’t still care for them.”

Oh my gosh, even though they shocked everyone by splitting up back in September 2012, they were so good at pretending everything was okay for the kids, you know? I remember Jada talking to Howard Stern in 2014, and she was like, ‘Will and I are seriously, seriously close friends.’ It was amazing! She really emphasized they were handling things well, and she didn’t even see their ten years together as a failure! She said relationships are just hard – and honestly, she’s so right! It just proves how dedicated they were, even when things were tough.
