Where to Buy 2025’s Game of the Year Nominees for the Lowest Price

The nominations for Game of the Year at The Game Awards are in! We now know the six games competing for the top prize next month. It’s been a fantastic year for video games, with standout titles like Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. These games offer incredible stories and engaging gameplay that really pull you in. Even games not nominated for Game of the Year, such as Arc Raiders and Battlefield 6, provided a lot of fun for players, making it a great year for gaming overall.

Now that the year’s almost over, you probably have a few games you still want to play that are up for Game of the Year awards. We’ve gathered a list of places where you can buy those nominated games at a discount – and one is even free! Keep in mind that not every game is currently on sale, so we’ll be updating this list with new deals and discounts as we get closer to The Game Awards. Check back soon for even better prices!

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Okay, so everyone’s been talking about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 this year, and it’s seriously good. The easiest way to play is if you already have Xbox Game Pass – it’s included! I know the price went up recently, and that made some people cancel, which is fair. But if you want to own the game, you can grab it for $39.99 on the Xbox Store or Humble Store (if you want the Steam version, but that deal ends November 20th). For PlayStation 5 owners, the physical copy is on Amazon for $48.99. Best Buy also has physical copies for both Xbox and PS5 for around $49.99.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Many are already calling Kingdom Come: Deliverance II a top game of 2025. The sequel lives up to the hype of the original and has attracted both longtime fans and new players. PC gamers can get it for a great price right now – just $38.99 at Fanatical until November 20th. If you’re thinking about playing, it’s a deal you won’t want to miss!

As a fan, I’ve been checking prices on Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and it looks like console players might need to hold out for a bigger discount. Right now, the cheapest I’ve found it is $59.99 for a physical copy at places like GameStop, Amazon, and Best Buy.

Hades II

You can currently get Hades II on Steam for $23.99 until November 20th. It’s unlikely to go much lower than $19.99 in future sales, so now might be a good time to buy it. On Nintendo Switch, the digital version costs the usual $29.99, while a physical copy is $49.99. The physical edition includes the game’s soundtrack and a 32-page character guide, but the digital version is much cheaper if you only want the game itself.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

The release of Hollow Knight: Silksong in September was a pleasant surprise, especially considering its affordable price of $19.99 across all platforms. It’s unlikely the price will drop much further, though a small sale might happen if the game wins its nomination. For now, there are no discounts, so players aren’t losing anything by holding off if they aren’t eager to jump in right away.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

While I think Death Stranding 2 is the best game of the year, it might not be as widely popular as Expedition 33 because it’s only available on PlayStation. If you’re planning to play Hideo Kojima’s new game before The Game Awards, you might want to wait a week or two. It currently costs $69.99, but PlayStation could drop the price to between $40 and $50 after the nominations are announced and with Black Friday sales approaching.

Donkey Kong Bananza

Nintendo rarely offers big discounts on its games, and when they do, the price drops are usually small. Right now, a used copy of Donkey Kong Bananza costs around $65 at GameStop, which isn’t much cheaper than buying it new. Don’t expect a significant sale anytime soon, although there might be a small discount around The Game Awards—but that’s not guaranteed.
