As we gear up for the new Harry Potter series on HBO, it’s exciting to see the original story reimagined too! Warner Bros. and Cosm are teaming up to create a totally immersive “shared reality” experience, bringing the magic to life in a way we haven’t seen before. It’s launching at Cosm venues in Los Angeles and Dallas, with plans to expand to Detroit and Atlanta by 2026. I’m definitely curious to see how this will blend storytelling with interactive experiences – it sounds like a must-see for Potterheads!
I’m so excited! It sounds like Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is getting a totally immersive experience at Cosm! They’re using this amazing 87-foot LED dome and special filmmaking tech to make you feel like you’re in the movie. Apparently, Warner Bros. has been testing this out with a few films already – The Matrix and Willy Wonka both got the same treatment, and I’ve heard great things!
Building on the success of immersive experiences like The Matrix and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, we’re excited to team up with Cosm and Little Cinema again, this time with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, announced Jeff Goldestein, Warner Bros. President of Global Distribution. This partnership is pushing the boundaries of how people experience movies, giving audiences a new and special way to enjoy classic films from the Warner Bros. collection.
As a huge movie fan, I was really excited to hear from Jeb Terry, the CEO of Cosm. He’s promising a ton of fun stuff for us Harry Potter lovers at their events! He said seeing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone at Cosm will be like stepping into the Wizarding World, and they’re going all out to make it magical – think Butterbeer, Chocolate Frogs, and everything else that makes being a fan so awesome. It sounds like they really get what makes this fandom special.
Harry Potter’s First Movie Gets the Biggest Screen Treatment
I still remember being totally blown away when Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone came out in 2001! It was my first time seeing Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint as Harry, Hermione, and Ron, and it felt magical. That movie really started something incredible – it launched the whole series of films based on the seven books. It’s crazy to think they originally planned for five movies, but ended up making eight blockbusters instead!
The future looks brighter for the Harry Potter franchise. Warner Bros. is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by showing it in Cosm’s immersive theaters, which has fans wondering if the other seven original movies will get the same treatment. Additionally, Harry Potter fans have a new live-action television series to anticipate on HBO.
Fans can look forward to an immersive experience based on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2026. Currently, all eight Harry Potter films are available to stream on both HBO Max and Peacock. Plus, a new Harry Potter series from HBO is planned for release in early 2027.
