Nina Dobrev Hits Wicked: For Good Red Carpet With Tyler Lain

Nina Dobrev brought a pal along for the latest chapter in her Wicked Diaries.

Former Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev attended the New York City premiere of Wicked: For Good with her close friend, Tyler Lain, on November 17th, and the two looked fantastic together at the event.

Nina looked stunning on the red carpet, wearing a long, black gown adorned with sequins and a simple rounded neckline. The 36-year-old, who recently ended her five-year engagement with Shaun White in September, completed her look with a sleek, slicked-back bun and classic diamond earrings.

Tyler, also 36, looked incredibly stylish as he posed for photos. He wore a cream cardigan with a deep V-neck, paired with a dark gray suit, and held onto his partner’s waist. He finished the look with square, brown-tinted sunglasses.

Nina and Tyler often enjoy spending time together. They recently went to the opening night of the musical Chess in New York, and last October, Tyler accompanied Nina as her date to a New York City Ballet performance.

Nina is especially excited to be involved with the upcoming Wicked movie. She recently shared that she has a personal connection to Jeff Goldblum, who plays the wizard in the film, and his wife, Emilie Livingston.

Nina shared with TopMob News’ Justin Sylvester at the premiere on November 17th that she knows Jeff through a mutual friend, Emilie. She also mentioned she’s known Jeff’s wife since childhood – they did gymnastics together – and enjoys supporting them both and their work.

Nevertheless, the actress from Love Hard said she would have enjoyed the enchanting tale regardless.

“It’s an iconic musical,” Nina said. “We all grew up listening to it [and] watching it.”

When asked which character she identifies with most, Nina immediately mentioned Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba, explaining that she feels like a “full witch” herself.

She described having a strong intuition, like she often knew things before she should. Because of this, she sometimes felt a connection to something mystical, even ‘witchy,’ as she put it.
