Doomsday has already been filmed and features a huge cast battling Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, but it’s unclear who will make it out alive to appear in Secret Wars, which will wrap up the current storyline. However, it’s now been revealed that a surprising character from Spider-Man’s world will be included in the final, multiversal adventure.
Sadie Sink is set to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars movie, filming in London in late 2026, according to Deadline. She was first cast in a mysterious role for Spider-Man: Brand New Day back in March 2025. Because she’ll also be in Secret Wars, many believe her character will be more than just a small part in the Spider-Man film, hinting at a significant, potentially super-powered, role in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Who Is Sadie Sink Playing in Avengers: Secret Wars?
As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve been thinking about what role Sadie Sink could have, and the news about her being in Secret Wars really makes two possibilities stand out. I think she’s likely to be introduced as Jean Grey. Kevin Feige has made it clear Secret Wars will kick off a new era for mutants, and we’re already getting hints of X-Men characters appearing before the movie. It would make perfect sense to introduce someone as important as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day – a smaller role to start – and then build her up to be a major player in Secret Wars. That feels like a smart way to connect what’s happening now with the exciting arrival of mutants in the MCU.
There’s a strong possibility that actress Sadie Sink might play Mayday Parker, the daughter of Peter Parker, in a future Marvel film. The title of a potential movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is taken from a comic book arc that completely changed Peter Parker’s life, making the introduction of a daughter from another reality a natural fit. This character could eventually become Spider-Girl, paying tribute to the franchise’s past and giving a well-established hero a personal connection to the multiversal storyline. While other characters like Gwen Stacy or Firestar are also possibilities, the large scope of a potential Secret Wars event suggests they’re looking for someone with the potential to significantly impact the entire universe.
The new Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, is coming to theaters on July 31, 2026. Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will finish the story arc on December 17, 2027.
