Aksys Games has announced that the mystery adventure game, Path of Mystery: A Brush with Death, will be available on Nintendo Switch in western regions on February 26, 2026.
Path of Mystery: A Brush with Death first launched on December 14, 2024 in Japan.
Here is an overview of the game, via Aksys Games:
A famous artist was murdered years ago while working on a painting at night, and the crime remains unsolved. Now, your university’s Mystery Research Club is taking another look at the case, potentially uncovering long-hidden details.
You play as Doppo Akazawa, a freshman college student and new member of the Mystery Research Club. Your first case takes you to Narumizawa to investigate a famous artist’s murder from thirty years ago. The case was closed despite some unanswered questions, and the main suspect died by suicide. But you have a secret weapon: the ability to travel back in time. Use this power to uncover new clues by observing past events and objects. With your unique knowledge, guide conversations and question witnesses and suspects, all while keeping your time-traveling ability hidden. Unravel a decades-old mystery and expose the true killer.
Playing Path of Mystery: A Brush with Death feels like watching a TV drama, with each chapter unfolding like an episode. As you investigate a 30-year-old murder, the suspense grows as you gather clues from the people involved. The game is visually and aurally impressive, featuring a strong voice cast, appealing characters, and beautiful scenery. When you explore the past, the art style shifts to a retro look, adding to the immersive experience.
