Resident Evil fans strongly believe Leon S. Kennedy will be featured in the new game, Resident Evil Requiem.
Although Capcom hasn’t officially confirmed anything, many fans believe Leon will make a surprise appearance in the new game. This speculation comes after it was revealed that Grace Ashcroft will be the main character, leading some to think Leon’s lack of presence in promotional materials is a deliberate mislead.
Adding to the discussion, a picture has been shared online showing an older Leon with an eyepatch. Here’s that image:

Producer Masato Kumazawa recently told Stevivor that rumors circulating online, specifically a fan-made image, are completely false.
Players can believe whatever they want, according to Kumazawa. However, he emphasizes that they shouldn’t expect any official confirmation from Capcom unless information is formally announced by the company.
He also addressed the image, saying:
Recently, a photo of Leon wearing an eye patch has been circulating, leading to rumors about downloadable content or a new costume. However, these claims are completely false.
That news might disappoint fans eager to see a specific Resident Evil character make an appearance, but there’s still a chance it could happen.

So, during the interview, Kumazawa didn’t actually say Leon wouldn’t be in the game. That got me thinking – he didn’t say he would be either! Basically, Capcom’s keeping that a secret for now, and there’s still a chance we’ll see Leon make an appearance. It’s a classic Capcom move, honestly.
Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to come out on February 27, 2026, for both PC and console platforms. For now, we’ll have to keep an eye out for official announcements.
