Netflix: Every Movie & TV Show Arriving in December 2025

As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s hard to believe 2025 is almost over! I’m so excited because Netflix is promising a fantastic end to the year. They just announced all the new movies and shows coming in December, and it looks like a really great lineup. I can’t wait to start watching!

The fifth and final season of the popular series Stranger Things will conclude this year with two parts released on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. Unlike many other Netflix releases, these new episodes will premiere in the evening, creating a special event for fans.

Netflix is set to release a lot of original films in December. The month kicks off on December 1st with the long-awaited sequel, Troll 2. Later in December, viewers can also enjoy Jay Kelly, directed by Noah Baumbach and starring George Clooney and Adam Sandler, and the new mystery Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

I just finished watching City of Shadows on Netflix, and it’s a really gripping series. The story kicks off with a shocking discovery – a body set on fire, hanging from one of Gaudí’s famous buildings in Barcelona. It follows a detective who’s fallen from grace as he’s pulled back into a case to track down the person responsible. It’s a dark and atmospheric thriller, and I was hooked from the very beginning.

In the third season of the Netflix series Home for Christmas, Johanne wants to have a cheerful holiday season and avoid the disappointment she felt last year… but romance might still be in the air.

I’m a big fan of Tom Segura, and his latest special, Teacher, just dropped on Netflix. It’s actually his fifth special with them – I’ve enjoyed all his previous ones: Mostly Stories, Disgraceful, Ball Hog, and Sledgehammer. And if you like his style of humor, you’ll be happy to hear that a second season of his really funny (and a little dark) series, Bad Thoughts – which was even nominated for an Emmy! – is coming out in 2026.

December 25th

Enjoy a special Christmas Gameday with two exciting NFL divisional games: the Dallas Cowboys take on the Washington Commanders, and the Detroit Lions face the Minnesota Vikings.

As a huge football fan, I’m really excited about Netflix’s Christmas Gameday again this year! They’re broadcasting live games on Christmas Day, and this time around we get two great divisional rivalries: the Lions taking on the Vikings, and the Cowboys facing off against the Commanders. It’s going to be a fantastic way to spend the holiday!

The final episodes of Stranger Things 5 are coming to Netflix at 5pm Pacific Time. With Hawkins isolated and Vecna still a threat, Eleven is in hiding while the group bands together to finally defeat him.
