The offline version of the highly anticipated 2025 release, “College Football 26“, is set to be taken offline temporarily, making its online features inaccessible for a while. This game is eagerly awaited by sports enthusiasts as they are eager for this popular franchise. The college sports games were at their peak in the 2000s but fell out of favor in the early 2010s due to challenges in obtaining player likenesses. Since college athletes couldn’t strike deals with developers like EA to appear in their games, the games became repetitive. However, players demanded a comeback and after the NCAA introduced a new policy in 2021 that allows athletes to make NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deals, EA started working on a fresh College Football game.
The previous edition of “College Football”, released last year, was incredibly popular and ranked second in terms of sales for the entire year, trailing only Call of Duty. Now, the long-awaited “College Football 26” has arrived, and fans are eagerly diving into all that EA Sports has to offer. This game is huge, boasting new features as well as improved gameplay. By learning from last year’s version, EA Sports was able to identify what worked and what didn’t. Contrary to some concerns, the series is not becoming a clone of Madden; instead, EA Sports has made a conscious effort to differentiate it as much as possible. Although there are still a few days left before the standard edition owners can get their hands on it, that changes tomorrow.
College Football 26 Servers Are Going Down for a Bit
Regrettably, the complete launch of College Football 26 will require a small sacrifice from those who enjoy playing late into the night or early in the morning. EA Sports has revealed that the servers for College Football 26 will undergo maintenance and be unavailable starting at 6AM ET on Thursday, July 10th. Consequently, any online gaming must be completed prior to this time, or players will be booted from their session, which could be frustrating. During this maintenance period, all online modes and the Team Builder feature will not be accessible.
EA Sports has announced that they will begin server maintenance tomorrow, on July 10th, at 6 AM Eastern Time. This means that during this period, you won’t be able to access any online game modes or use Team Builder. So, make sure you finish all your online games before the maintenance starts!
At the moment, we’re unsure about how long the College Football 26 servers might be offline. It could stretch as short as half an hour, or it could run longer. Fortunately, maintenance is being performed quite early in the morning, which should minimize its impact on most players. If you were planning to play a game before going to work or if you’re a night owl, this might be a good time for some extra rest or finding alternative activities.
On July 10th, at 12 PM Eastern Time, College Football 26 will be accessible for all standard edition owners. By then, we expect any maintenance issues to have been resolved. You’ll be able to enjoy the game on both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 platforms.
