The next Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, is expected to be Tom Holland’s most action-packed film so far. Recent reports indicate it will feature exciting ninja-style action and could introduce major villains from the more sinister side of the Marvel universe.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man said to fight an army of ninjas in Brand New Day
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is already dealing with a lot in the “Brand New Day” storyline – whispers suggest a killer vigilante, a powerful monster, and several new villains are appearing. However, recent reports hint that Spider-Man’s problems might be even bigger than fans realize.
Film industry insider Daniel Richtman reports that the movie will include a large-scale action scene set in a prison, with Spider-Man battling a group of ninjas. This surprising news has quickly sparked debate about the identity of these ninjas and which Marvel villain they might be connected to.
Marvel comics includes several groups centered around ninjas, like The Chaste, The Arashikage Clan, and especially The Hand. Because of its history with Daredevil, The Hand seems the most probable choice, and it’s also crossed paths with Spider-Man in the comics. Introducing The Hand in a new movie could subtly set up the team-up between Spider-Man and Daredevil that many fans want to see.
The mysterious figures could be samurai antagonists, suggesting a completely new group introduced for the film. Alternatively, they might be fighters from Xialing’s Ten Rings organization. This idea gains traction because Shang-Chi’s director, Destin Daniel Cretton, is now working on ‘Brand New Day,’ which could potentially continue storylines from the first movie.
The movie is shaping up to have an incredible cast! Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo is back as Bruce Banner, and Sadie Sink is joining the film in an as-yet-unrevealed part. Fans can also expect to see Florence Pugh make a brief appearance as Yelena Belova.
