Dreamworks TV Show Leaves Netflix for Peacock (And There’s a Big Problem)

Streaming services are constantly changing, so it’s often unclear where you’ll be able to watch your favorite shows. Recently, fans of a popular DreamWorks animated series were disappointed to find it had moved from Netflix to Peacock. This is just the latest DreamWorks title to leave Netflix, and now most of the series isn’t available to stream anywhere.

The animated series Trolls: The Beat Goes On! is no longer available on Netflix. The show, which bridges the gap between the first Trolls movie and Trolls World Tour, follows the adventures of characters like Queen Poppy and Branch as they navigate life in Troll Village. All eight seasons disappeared from Netflix on November 17th, and are now on Peacock, though currently only the first two seasons are available to stream there.

Why You Should Watch Trolls: The Beat Goes On!

If you loved the first Trolls movie, you’ll probably enjoy Trolls: The Beat Goes On! The series continues the story in a fun way, letting you spend more time with the characters and in the colorful, imaginative world of Troll Village. It’s a lighthearted show that focuses on the Trolls’ everyday lives and silly adventures.

While primarily for kids, the show also offers plenty for adults to enjoy, with jokes and themes about friendship, kindness, and love that everyone can connect with. Some of the humor did raise a few eyebrows with parents! Plus, the music from Trolls: The Beat Goes On! is fantastic – songs like “Hair In The Air” and “Sunshine All The Time” are seriously catchy and will stay with you long after you’ve finished watching.

Why Did Trolls: The Beat Goes On! Leave Netflix?

Despite being labeled a Netflix original, Trolls: The Beat Goes On! is actually made by DreamWorks. When DreamWorks’ agreement with Netflix ended, they regained full control of the show. Because of this, many DreamWorks programs were removed from Netflix in 2020. As DreamWorks is owned by Universal Studios, it’s logical that shows like Trolls: The Beat Goes On! would now stream on Universal’s platform, Peacock.

The move to a new streaming service has caused some changes to what’s available to watch. Right now, you can only stream two seasons of Trolls: The Beat Goes On! on Peacock. The other six seasons aren’t currently on any streaming service and can only be rented or purchased. Peacock may add those seasons and any missing episodes later, but they haven’t announced their December schedule yet.
