Craig Revel Horwood, a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, received boos from the audience during Saturday’s live show after praising Karen Carney’s impressive dance performance.
This weekend on the Blackpool special, former Lioness Jill Scott and her partner Carlos Gu performed a paso doble to the famous orchestral piece, ‘O Fortuna’ from Carmina Burana.
The dance was a huge hit with both the judges and the audience on Strictly, earning it a nearly perfect score. However, even while praising the performance, Craig still offered some helpful feedback.
He was thrilled with the goal, calling it amazing, skillful, and full of energy. While he suggested a slightly smoother build-up would have been nice, he ultimately described it as dramatic, passionate, and incredible, praising the player’s overall performance as absolutely outstanding.
Responding to criticism from fellow judge Craig and the negative reaction from the audience, Motsi Mabuse explained that she had defended the performer, saying, “I disagreed and argued on your behalf, and actually, the entire audience was supporting you.”
In her feedback to Karen, she explained she was completely blown away by the dance and didn’t have the words to describe how amazing it was.

Wow, Carlos really got to me! Watching him dance in this famous ballroom, where I’ve seen so many amazing pasodobles over the years, was incredible. That routine was truly top-level – the kind you’d see in a serious competition.
She exclaimed that the paso doble was unlike anything she’d ever witnessed, praising its flawless execution and professional quality. She called it an unforgettable performance, destined to be remembered as one of the best.
Anton Du Beke described the dance as incredible, calling it a complete triumph. He enthusiastically stated, “I’d give that a 25 – you’ll never perform better!”
Shirley and Anton both gave Karen and Carlos a perfect 10 for their dance, while Craig scored them a 9, giving the pair a total of 39.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday 21st November at 6:35pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
