Man, the last couple of weeks have been a rollercoaster as a Half-Life fan! One minute, everyone’s buzzing about HLX being basically Half-Life 3 and saying we might get an announcement this year. Then the hype shifted to thinking it’d drop on the anniversary of the original Half-Life. Sadly, neither of those things have happened… yet. But according to Mike Straw over at Insider Gaming, he’s still pretty confident we’ll see something before The Game Awards. Fingers crossed!
During the recent Insider Gaming Weekly podcast, Straw mentioned he knows a potential date, but he’s hesitant to share it, fearing it might be a deliberate leak planted by Valve. This could explain why NateTheHate has reported multiple dates are floating around, and Straw is trying to confirm the information before announcing anything.
Despite these challenges, Straw still thinks we’ll see news about the game this year, and not just a brief mention at The Game Awards on December 11th. If anything appears at the awards show, it might be a follow-up announcement. With so little time left in the year, fans are still hopeful. Will Valve finally release the game? We’ll just have to wait and see. You can find more information about the rumors here.
