The new movie Wicked: For Good was a huge hit at the box office this weekend, breaking several records. According to Deadline, Wicked: For Good earned $150 million in its opening weekend in the US, making it the second-highest opening of 2025 after The Minecraft Movie ($162 million). Globally, the film grossed $226 million, breaking the record for movie adaptations of Broadway shows. This opening positions Wicked: For Good as the fourth-biggest global opening of the year, following Lilo & Stitch ($340 million), Jurassic World: Rebirth ($322 million), and The Minecraft Movie ($313 million).

The opening weekend for Wicked: For Good was a major success. It’s Universal Pictures’ second-biggest domestic opening ever, just behind Jurassic World. It also had the second-largest pre-Thanksgiving opening weekend, trailing only The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Overall, it ranks as the third-highest-grossing November opening weekend, following The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

All three films are projected to be among the top 10 highest-grossing movies domestically and potentially worldwide.
