When it comes to rumors, Jelly Roll is at the center of some wild ones.
Following singer Jelly Roll’s significant 200-pound weight loss, some fans have jokingly suggested he’s been replaced by a look-alike. His wife, Bunnie Xo, has now responded to these claims.
On November 23th, TikTok creator Bunnie (Alyssa DeFord) posted a video focusing on Jelly Roll’s face. She noticed that his weight loss had changed how his face tattoos appeared, specifically affecting his cheeks.
She jokingly wrote in the caption, accompanied by a laughing emoji, about people thinking her husband was a clone because he’d lost weight and his tattoos seemed different.
People playfully reacted to Bunnie’s post, with one commenter, Emily, jokingly questioning, “THAT’S NOT JELLY ROLL.” Bunnie, age 45, replied with a curious, “Then who is it Emily?”
Another chimed in on the clone jokes, writing, “That’s veggie roll, not jelly roll.”
Fans have pointed out changes to Jelly Roll’s face tattoos, but that’s not the only recent difference. The singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, showed off a clean-shaven face on social media on November 20th – the first time he’s been without a beard in over ten years.
Jelly Roll recently explained in a YouTube video that losing weight has made him realize a lot about himself, including that he’s not sure what his face looks like without a beard. He admitted he’d been using a beard to hide his double chin, which is still noticeable.
When he showed his daughter, 17-year-old Bailee Ann (from a previous relationship), his new appearance, she was both surprised and amused, suggesting she might believe the rumors he’s been cloned.

Giggling, the teenager called out, “Stay where you are!” and ducked into a corner. She exclaimed, “Oh my gosh, this is making me upset!”
She playfully agreed with her dad when he said he resembled a reptile, joking, “You look like a turtle!”
Bunnie Xo playfully reacted to Jelly Roll’s new shaved head, exclaiming “Oh, my gosh!” while her husband was shaving. After sharing a lot of laughs, she genuinely told him, “I love it.”
Read on to look back at Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo’s romance over the years.

Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll’s relationship started in Las Vegas. Bunnie shared on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast that she first met the singer in August 2015 while he was performing at the Las Vegas Country Saloon, before he became famous. He was living in a van at the time, and the show only had about 20 people in the audience.
Despite their initial differences – Bunnie said he wasn’t her usual type, and he loved Taylor Swift – they felt an instant connection. She described it as a cliché moment where she felt like she’d found someone she was meant to meet.
However, a romance didn’t begin immediately. Both were in other situations – Bunnie was in an unhealthy relationship, and Jelly Roll was focused on his own life. They reconnected in October 2015, and Bunnie quickly fell for him.
After Bunnie’s ex-partner went to prison, she asked a friend to give Jelly Roll her number. He started calling and texting her for advice about his daughter, Bailee. Their connection shifted from friendship to romance in July 2016 when he returned to Vegas to film videos and they spent the night together.
Bunnie recalled a humorous moment during that night, admitting they were both very drunk. While she was focused on the moment, Jelly Roll surprised her by asking about her five-year plan. After discussing their goals, they decided to pursue a relationship.

Bunnie and Jelly Roll followed through on their plans quickly. They got married a month after they first discussed it, in August 2016 at a Las Vegas chapel. Bunnie shared on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast that they even completed a five-year plan they’d made, with buying a house as the final step.
Bunnie also had her own ambitions. After leaving the sex work industry in 2019, she launched the Dumb Blonde podcast, fulfilling a desire to host a talk show – something she’d told Jelly Roll, as he recounted on The Howard Stern Show in June 2024.
Bunnie used the money she earned to support Jelly Roll’s career. She invested in his 2017 album, Addiction Kills, and helped him with legal matters regarding custody of his daughter, as she explained on Sofia with an F.

Jelly Roll’s daughter, Bailee, was born in 2008 while he was in prison for drug dealing. He credits Bailee with saving his life, even though she was very young at the time. Bailee remembers her father entering her life around age two, when he was starting his music career and living in a van. While Jelly Roll admits he wasn’t very involved as a father initially, he fought for full custody of Bailee when her mother struggled with addiction.
Although Jelly Roll and his now-wife, Bunnie, were just beginning their relationship, she financially supported his legal battle for custody. This led both of them to re-examine their own lives. Bunnie realized they couldn’t provide a stable home for Bailee if they continued their own struggles with substance abuse and vowed to stop using pills.
Bunnie also embraced a maternal role, and in 2024, she wrote a heartfelt message for Bailee’s 16th birthday, thanking Jelly Roll for allowing her to be the mother she always wanted to be and praising Bailee for the healing impact she’s had on her life over the past eight years.

I’ve been following Jelly Roll’s journey for a while now, and it’s been amazing to see his family grow. It was a busy time back in August 2016 – just before he and Bunnie got married, and while he was fighting for custody of his daughter, Bailee – he welcomed his son, Noah. He shared his feelings on Facebook right away, saying he hoped Noah would achieve everything he hadn’t and that neither of his kids would suffer for his past mistakes. They’ve always been pretty protective of Noah’s privacy, but they do share little glimpses of his life when they can. Bunnie posted a cute TikTok in July 2023 asking Noah about his favorite things – soccer and playing in the water – but she made sure to say she’d gotten his mom’s permission first. It’s really heartwarming to see that Bunnie and Jelly Roll have a great relationship with Noah’s mother. Bunnie has even said she’s an amazing woman and they couldn’t do it without her, especially with Jelly Roll touring so much. And Bunnie absolutely loves being Noah’s stepmom! She shared on Instagram in October 2024 how much joy she gets from watching him grow up and how privileged she feels to be a part of his life since day one. She’s so thankful for both of her ‘bonus babies’ and for Noah’s mom too.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie separated in 2018, two years after getting married. Jelly Roll later admitted to infidelity as the cause of the split, calling it a low point in his life. Despite the difficult time, they worked to repair their relationship and rekindled their romance later that year. He credits the experience with making them stronger as a couple, though he wishes the affair hadn’t happened. They are now happily committed to each other. Bunnie shared on TikTok that their breakup and eventual reunion led them on an incredible journey, and that they finally fulfilled promises made early in their relationship, building a stronger foundation after a difficult period.

As Jelly Roll’s popularity grew, he and Bunnie made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2022 CMA Awards. In the documentary Jelly Roll: Save Me, Bunnie described them as “the Addams Family of country music—we don’t really fit in, but here we are.”

Jelly Roll and Bunnie recently reaffirmed their commitment to each other by renewing their vows, seven years after their initial wedding. Bunnie fondly remembered their first wedding day, recalling how Jelly Roll promised her a better future and vowed to support her. He kept that promise.
Bunnie described the last seven years as a challenging but rewarding journey. They worked hard to overcome past traumas and build a healthy, loving relationship, creating a stable home for Bailee. Through everything, they faced challenges together with positivity and strength.
Bunnie expressed her deep love and admiration for Jelly Roll, calling him her soulmate, safe haven, and best friend, and praising his unique character.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie continue to have a loving relationship, and she’s even been the inspiration behind some of his songs, like “Woman” and “Kill a Man.” He told Entertainment Tonight that she’s “the best,” and he struggled to write a love song that felt genuine without sounding cheesy. He wanted to express how deeply he feels for her while still being true to himself. He explained that he doesn’t have eyes for anyone else and wanted a song to show that vulnerability. The couple has also appeared together in the music videos for “Wheels Fall Off” and “Lonely Road,” which features Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox.

Bunnie is a constant supporter of Jelly Roll, whether she’s in the audience or watching from home. She shared a heartfelt message celebrating his 2024 CMT Music Awards success, acknowledging his twenty-year journey to recognition. She described years of struggle, from playing to empty rooms to performing in packed arenas. Bunnie praised Jelly Roll’s songwriting, calling his music healing for those who are hurting, and explaining how his lyrics connect with people on a deep level, making them feel understood. Their strong relationship is inspiring to fans. She affectionately called him ‘Papabear’ and expressed her endless love and commitment. Jelly Roll also celebrates Bunnie’s accomplishments, praising her success with social media and her podcast, and expressing how proud he is of the way she inspires others, especially women.

Let me tell you, I’m a huge supporter of Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll, and it breaks my heart to see the negativity they face. Bunnie isn’t one to back down, and she definitely won’t let anyone mess with her husband. She recently shared how hurt Jelly Roll was by the constant bullying about his weight before he lost over 200 pounds – he actually had to step away from the internet because it was so damaging. He tries to hide how much it affects him, but Bunnie sees it, and it’s devastating. She’s so right – just because someone’s a celebrity doesn’t mean they deserve to be torn down! It’s not okay to bully anyone, you have no idea what they’re going through. And Bunnie made it perfectly clear: she’s fiercely protective of her family and will always fight for those who are being targeted. She won’t stand for lies or bullying, and honestly, I admire her so much for it.

Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie, have been publicly sharing their journey to expand their family. After Jelly Roll mentioned they were considering having a baby, Bunnie revealed they’ve been undergoing IVF treatments. In a June 2024 Instagram post, she explained they decided to share their experience because of their openness with fans, and because the process has already been challenging. Despite the difficulties, they remain optimistic. They’ve been consulting with IVF doctors and exploring all possible options. Both Jelly Roll and Bunnie expressed excitement and apprehension, sharing that they hadn’t originally planned to have more children, but their feelings changed this year. They also discussed considering surrogacy, with Bunnie explaining on her podcast, Dumb Blonde, that she’s unable to carry a child herself due to health risks.
