Guy Fieri Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Suffering Leg Injury

Guy Fieri is recovering after a brutal freak accident.

The celebrity chef had emergency surgery after a fall down the stairs caused a tear in his thigh muscle.

Guy explained to Fox News Digital that he fell down some steps, with one foot sliding forward and the other getting stuck. This caused his leg to extend awkwardly, making it look like he was doing the splits. However, the real injury – a tear in the thickest part of his thigh muscle – was unusual, so much so that his doctor, with 20 years of experience, said he’d never seen anything like it.

I was really relieved to hear he was going through with the procedure. He explained it was important to prevent his muscle from shrinking back, and that’s what he was worried about.

He explained that muscle tears usually happen where the muscle connects to the tendon, or where the tendon connects to the bone. But in this case, the tear was right in the middle of the entire quadriceps muscle, and it was a severe, explosive injury.

Guy Fieri, now relying on a wheelchair and crutches for mobility, was filming his new show, Flavor Town Food Fight, when an accident occurred. This unexpected event required everyone involved in the production to quickly adjust and work around the situation.

It was crazy! We had the whole town involved, all the chefs, a huge crew of 125 people on set, and everything was ready to go, but then I ended up needing surgery. Thankfully, we managed to change plans and get creative with how we filmed things. It’s been a whirlwind, and now I’m finally back at the ranch, which is my happy place. It’s all about hiking, being outdoors, and enjoying the beautiful scenery here.

The host of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives needs to avoid putting any weight on his leg for the next two months, after which he’ll start physical therapy.

He said he wants to move forward as quickly as he can. Someone told him, ‘You’ve learned enough, now go back to being yourself, because you’re going to face a difficult challenge.’

Let me tell you, I used to be a total daredevil! As a kid, I was constantly getting injured – I broke my leg, knee, wrist, even my sternum, ribs, and tailbone. Seriously, if you can break it, I probably did! But honestly, I grew out of that phase a long time ago. Those days of reckless abandon are definitely behind me. I’ve learned my lesson and now I’m all about being a bit more careful!

While recovering, Guy will need help from his sons, 29-year-old Hunter and 19-year-old Ryder, his wife Lori, and his nephew Jules to prepare Thanksgiving dinner.

I remember my son, Ryder, texting me from school with a funny message. He said all the cooking and training I’d given him was finally going to come in handy. I was just glad he was offering to help instead of me having to ask him to.

Guy explained that his three sons – Hunter, Ryder, and Jules – all know how to cook. Even though he’ll be directing them from a wheelchair, they’ll be cooking for around 40 people, and he’s excited for the challenge and fun of it all.

During a soccer game against the Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle, a midfielder for Racing Louisville collapsed after only a few minutes of play.

According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate supporting her, just before she collapsed. Trainers were immediately called to assess her condition.

After receiving immediate medical attention on the field, Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, the National Women’s Soccer League reported. They stated she is currently in stable condition and fully aware of her surroundings.

I was shocked to learn that Adam Devine is still dealing with the effects of being hit by a cement truck when he was just 11 years old! It’s incredible how something that happened so long ago can continue to impact someone, but he shared that his injuries still bother him, and I really feel for him.

“It’s been awful,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I’ve been experiencing spasms all over my body, and doctors told me recently that my condition was life-threatening.”

He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying, “My body has a few quirks and isn’t quite working perfectly.”

While the internet isn’t always a kind place, Amy Schumer is happy that, in this case, it helped her get answers.

Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”

She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Though these symptoms eventually passed, she went to the hospital for evaluation. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they diagnosed as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey experienced a health issue, Justin also faced a medical challenge. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the condition affected the nerves in his ear and face, causing paralysis. He showed fans that he couldn’t blink, smile, or move his nostril on the affected side, and that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat. Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away.

Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better. She described the situation as frightening and unexpected, but expressed her gratitude that he was going to be okay.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had previously kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, Foxx explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next twenty days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became worried and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.

After surgery, twenty days later on May 4th, Foxx woke up in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather before everything went dark. After that, she saw light, which led her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the series, she experienced a sudden, severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.

A hospital scan quickly revealed a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. Emilia immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she struggled with aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.

Though she left the hospital after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure failed, leading to a massive bleed and a dire prognosis. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia Clarke is now fully recovered and says she’s “at a hundred per cent.”

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is thankful for the support of her family. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and her loved ones immediately came to her side. She told TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi that she texted them a picture after the stroke, and “Everybody just came to my rescue.”

Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. She explained that while she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also struggling with lupus and kidney problems.

Today, Cori is recovering well. “I’m doing great,” she said. “I just had a little bit of motor skills that I had to work back on. But other than that, I was fine.”

Shailene Woodley struggled with serious health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and digestive problems. She saw many doctors, but received conflicting diagnoses.

Drawing on her background in herbalism and holistic health, Shailene sought answers from both traditional doctors and alternative healers, hoping to find comfort and understanding.
